This company advertised a refurbished credit card receipt printer on the internet for 35.00 + 16.50 shipping About a week after ordering it they called to inform me that they could not ship the printer at that price since they were not our credit card processing company and needed authorization before shipping. The cost of the printer was 172.00 + 29.50 shipping. I told them I did not want to pay that and would look into switching to their services.

This was on Monday, Mar. 2nd and I was speaking with a Daniel Rowe. He asked me to fax him my current credit card statement and he would send back a comparison for review.

The next day Mr. Rowe sent me an email showing that they could save me a few dollars in fees and that the printer would ship that day. After reviewing the comparison I emailed Mr. Rowe to confirm that the printer would be 35.00 if I signed up along with a few other questions. Mr. Rowe confirmed the printer would only cost 35.00 and answered my other questions satisfactorily. We agreed to finish up on Friday as I was not going to be back in the office until then.

Friday I called and left a message for Mr. Rowe to call me about finishing up my opening an account. My call was not returned, nor were the calls placed the following Monday. While waiting to hear back from Mr. Rowe I decided to go ahead and hook up the printer.

It did not come with any paperwork or instructions of any kind and this was the first time I had ever used one. The first problem I had was that the cable provided would not plug into our system. I spent 2 -3 days trying to find an adapter or the proper cable.

After not having any success finding either and not having anyone return my calls about switching my service I called them to make arrangements to return the printer. The person I spoke with was very polite and apologized for the problems and asked me to give them another chance. He told me that they did have make the cable I needed but I had to call a different location and that he would have someone contact me about the account.

At this point I was about 3 weeks into not having a credit card receipt printer and the thought of trying to order another one did not appeal to me so I called the number he gave me and ordered the cable - it was 56.00 with shipping. No one called to get my account set up though.

I ordered the cable but still could not get the printer to work so I called them once more, told then I needed to return the printer. The person tried to talk me into keeping the printer. This time I told them I had had enough of their run a round and simply wanted to get loose from them. That is when they told me there would be a 35% restocking fee. Needless to say this did not go over with me. The printer was returned and at present they have credited my credit card for the purchase less shipping and the 35% restocking fee.

As soon as I find out who the registered agent is I am going to send them a demand letter for a full refund. If they refuse I am to file suit against them in a court of law and am inviting anyone else interested in getting their money back from this company to join in.

The following is the registered agent for MerchantWarehouse.com: Corporation Service Company, 84 State St., Boston, Mass. 02109 President: Henry Helgeson, 17 Rutland Square, Boston, Mass. 02118 Treasurer: Scott Zdanis, 1757 Stillwater Dr. Miami, FL 33141 You do not have to have an attorney to go after this company. Simply send a demand letter to the "registered agent" demanding a refund, explaining the facts as briefly as possible and inform them that they have "10" days from their receipt of the letter to comply or you will seek legal action in a proper court of law. Be very carefull of your wording as you can not threaten them. Do not send the damand to the Pres. or Treasurer it has to be sent to the registered agent and that is who you will file your claim against. If they don't comply - file suit with the proper authorities. Where I am that is Justice Court - also know as JP court or small claims court.
