Don't trade in a vehicle. Folks almost always get much less than what their trade is truly worth. That way if something like this happens, they get back a USED car and you keep what you had (of course then they would not likely had made the transaction).

You've been taken by the spot delivery scam. Why not contact the Florida Attorney General's Office and file a report. That might not get your money back but with enough complaints an investigation and possible legislation may be drafted. PLEASE do not ignore this...write them a letter. In the future (and for the benefit of those eavesdropping here) never, ever take delivery on a car until and unless you can receive INDEPENDENT verification of financing. If the dealership has a problem with this, then WALK OUT! When the salesman tells you "you're approved", then ask for a contact number for who ever is supplying the financing. Suppose its "XYZ Acceptance", go home and call directory assistance and call that number. Ask them to fax you all the details of their approval on their letterhead, signed by someone in authority. If they won't do it, forget the deal. The SPOT DELIVERY SCAM is rampant in the car business. It is perpetrated on people with questionable credit. Type "spot delivery scam" in a search engine and see all the hits. People, spread the word. Contact your state's AG office. Help get the ball rolling on bringing the SLIME of the car business to justice!
