Tell us has your experience with this business or person been good? What's this?
I was employed by Metal Transportation for a brief period of time as a company driver. When I began, I was one of the first to enroll in their supposed "driver training program" as a new driver to the industry ,I was excited to find a company who would help me train and help me get my CDL.

However, my excitement soon turned to disgust after spending over two months commuting every day to their Nashville terminal. I was told almost daily that it would be awhile before they had an Instructor ready to train, or there were no trucks available, even when they had at least 40 units out back of their terminal.

I paid them a fee of over $350.00 for this "exciting" opportunity. After two and a half months and several Instructors who continously quit, I finally went for my CDL exam, which I passed with high numbers.

Then came the driving exam which took another four weeks to take because of no trainers or no trucks etc..!

Finally a new Instructor came in "these guys were just regular company drivers by the way, not DOT certified", and he showed more promise as an Instructor and got the ball rolling.

One day I came in and waited the entire day just to go out and drive their truck for 25 minutes in rotation with two other trainee's, needless to say I was very upset with the company by this point, but , I had to get a good paying job due to my domestic situation, and keep my three girls housed and fed.

To make a long story a little shorter, after being employed and driving safely for over three months, I was told in January of 2002 to come in for a meeting in Nashville, where I was given the option of being fired or resigning.

All of this due to my supposed bad safety record and a flat tire on a trailer. They never explained themselves no matter how much I asked for them to. The Vice President of operations would only say, "We have been given information that you may have been involved in an accident"

However, this was an outright lie!

This company caused me to lose at least $15000.00 in lost income because of this "fire at will" attitude and made it very difficult for me to obtain employment by putting this false information into my DAC report.

I now drive for Willis Shaw Express, out of Elm Springs, AR.

I just wonder whats around the next bend?

I suggest to anyone who has been through this type of experience, to pass the word on these type of "Black Listing Companies".
