I take great offense at the suggestions and allegations made in this complaint! I am appalled at such outright misrepresentations.
Mobile Ed has been in business presenting high quality programs in schools for more than thirty years. Obviously, in such a length of time, many performers have worked for us. All are hired as independent contractors. All are verified initially through references. All are subject to background checks.
The most serious allegation here concerns the hiring of a child molester. A performer did work for us. He had been subjected to a professional background check which revealed nothing. He came with strong references. When his character became known to us he was immediately terminated. In this case the performer was acquitted of the charges brought against him. None the less he was not reinstated nor has he been part of our company for many years.
We are a small company with limited resources but we do everything possible to ensure the highest quality performers. In this case we were failed by the company conducting the background checks and we subsequently switched our service to a different company. The safety of children is our highest concern.
The second allegation concerns Mark Tripp. Mark Tripp does not work for Mobile Ed Productions. Mark Tripp did work for us in the past, but his services were terminated several years ago. Mark Tripp, during his time with Mobile Ed Productions performed superbly in schools and showed great care in dealing with children. However, he does not work for us now and has not for many years.
As to the complaint of a school in Illinois receiving a visit by a drunk performer I have no knowledge whatsoever of such an occurrence. We have not received any notification or complaint. Our presenters are extremely professional and disciplined, hard working individuals and we strive at all times to ensure that we are represented by only the best in our field. In the unlikely event that such a complaint were received, we would treat it with great seriousness, and issue an immediate refund. But, again, I have not received such a complaint.
For any school unfairly worried by this complaint be assured that Mobile Ed has thousands of extremely satisfied and happy clients from whom to offer referrals on any of our programs, tours and performers.
Without further knowledge of the school in question, and based on comments regarding past employees, I am suspicious that this may be a spurious complaint, filed by a competitor, or disgruntled ex-employee. I am truly curious as to how an alleged school representative would have detailed knowledge of the work history of a performer who has not worked for us for years.
