Morningstar Restoration Richard Steffan Forged my name on a State Farm check and cashed it. Never replaced my roof Indianapolis, Indiana
Morningstar Restoration came to my home and sold me on having ins adjuster come and look at my roof. I received a check from my insurance company and the salesman took it without me signing it. Because of the early winter this year the work didn't get completed in the 6-8 week timeframe as stated and in the end of January, I was contacted by Jackie (didn't get last name) stating they needed additional info on my contract so they could get started as soon as weather permitted again. I never received the contract and 2 weeks later tried contacting them and couldn't even get a receptionist to answer the phone. I became worried and called the salesman's phone # and he told me company was having problems and a bunch of people had left. Called my insurance company and asked if the check had been cashed and found it had and requested a check image. Morningstar Restoration forged my name on the Insurance company check and cashed it, and never performed the roof replacement and now they appear to be to be out of business. Have filed reports with BBB and Indianna Attorney Generals Office. I have received a phone call from a lawyer representing Morningstar 2 days after filing those complaints and the BBB has since closed my complaint for not being able to contact anyone or getting contact from Morningstar Restoration. I have started the check fraud process with my insurance company.
