Tell us has your experience with this business or person been good? What's this?

I recently was searching for health insurance coverage on the Michigan Healthcare Exchange and mistakenly entered my contact information for follow-up.  I almost immediately started receiving multiple daily calls from various NBOAInc. representatives (with interesting names Mercedes, Audi, Porsche and Frankie) asking me many questions that I would classify as confidential Personal Health Information-PHI, family income, prescription drug use etc.  I was then handed off to Shayne Klopp, a supposed licensed agent (lic #17847052).  Shayne said that they could provide better health coverage than my existing major medical plan at fraction of the cost.  What he didn’t tell me is that they added a term life policy as well without disclosure

I was then transferred to another agent that read a script (very quickly) that I was informed as being recorded.  When I asked to repeat or clarify a statement around coverage she had to start from the beginning.  What I didn't realize is that they will only take your checking/savings account information for payment...big red flag.  What they signed me up for was a limited health coverage plan (that doesn’t qualify under the ACA provisions in most states) and doesn’t provide coverage for pre-existing conditions for the first twelve months or any medical condition within the first thirty days of the policy.  I also asked Shayne to verify if my existing providers were covered (by name and city) and he verified that they were.  When I called my providers they said that they had never heard of the company and wouldn’t accept the coverage.  In addition, they added a life insurance policy that I didn’t request and deducted $265 and another $65.00 from my bank account the next day.  The policy was to begin the first day of the following month.  They also signed me up for a prescription drug policy that wasn’t nearly as comprehensive as they stated.

Furthermore, Shayne provide me a bogus phone number extension and said he would respond to any questions via email within 24hrs…he hasn’t returned one call or email in the last eight days.  I also emailed Bradley Butler, CEO without reply/response to date as well.  This has been a huge waste of my time and a very frustrating process to unwind.  I went directly to the contracted carriers to cancel my policies and hopefully will receive refunds and verification of cancellation directly from them….we’ll see.  Don’t bother wasting your time trying to cancel with NBOAInc.  NBOAInc is a very bad, bad company that should be avoided at all costs!!
