National Tire & Battery ripoff Customers pay for product and are not getting what they pay for. Lawrenceville Georgia
National Tire and Battery is now owned by TBC. The stores are run as a Tire Kingdom format. Service mechanical repair orders have a 8% fee added up to a maximun of $25.00. This fee covers the cost of floor mats, seat covers, shop rags, cleaners,etc. One item necessary in the shop is brake clean. Customers pay for this, however our company e-mail told us not to purchase any more brake clean. This cost the company money. Customers pay for this and are not getting what they pay for. We also charge tax and shop fees on wheel alignments. Alignments are a labor item and in the state of Georgia labor is not taxable.

Misleading title

First you title is misleading, the shop fee is not a product, it is a fee. There is nothing that indicates what cleaner will be used on your car. Brake Clean is not a necessary cleaner. The company does suppy each and every shop with a parts washer and a moble parts washer to use under the wheel to clean brakes. The main reason for not allowing the purchase of brake clean is waste. Techs in most shops use this for cleaning the machines and everything else and that is waste. The Alignment tax issue was a misunderstanding due to some at the corp level thinking that since shims were a part and included in some alignments that this made it a package item. I do believe the tax issue has been resolved and is no longer taxed. I am not a big fan of shop fees but please get your facts straight before saying NTB doesn't give it's customers what they pay for, unless of course your one of the techs who fails to put seat covers in each and every car you drive in the shop.
