As a struggling single-mom, I purchased a much needed new car from Nationwide Nissan. After a lot of back and forth with his manager, the salesman closed the deal- we were both happy. Back at home, I realized they'd neglected to give me my temporary registration. I called to request it and was instructed to return with all my original paperwork. Upon arrival, the salesman refused to speak with me. Finally, I was escorted into the F&I office where all my paperwork was displayed. The F&I girl, "Angel", took my paperwork and disappeared. Shortly after, I was advised they'd forgotten to include the sun-roof and stereo system in the final price and would have to re-calculate the deal and monthly payments. Nope! This was a signed and completed deal and I would not agree to a change after the fact - I simply couldn't afford higher monthly payments. After 4 hours sitting in this office - alone, they pulled my trade-in up front, exchanged the tags and told me to leave. If I refused to leave, they would call the police and have me arrested for theft! This statement was repeated several times - each time with increasingly threatening tones and animation.

I suppose they thought they had yet another dim-witted, female customer they could bully and rip-off... Instead, what they had was a now-incensed parent of a scared, tired and hungry 8-year old who wouldn't sit still for blatant illegal activity. They once again refused to speak with me until I began to explain to customers in the show-room exactly what was happening to me. I managed to convince 2 of them to leave. Miraculously, my original paperwork was returned, tags returned to the new vehicle and was out of there!

I never received an apology but did find some comfort when I saw them pull the $1000.00 trade-in off the lot, with blue smoke billowing out the tail pipe!

This was in 1990 - and, I will never tire of telling my friends and business associates about my experience and advising them to take their business elsewhere.
