I used vanlines.com to complete a profile for a household out of state move. I was contacted by Arina in Sales with Nationwide Trusted Movers with a bogus address in Newport Beach CA. Arina said she worked in San Jose CA. I told her my items and we came up with an estimate of $995 for a move to be picked up on May 18. On that date they were a no-show so I called Arina at 1 PM who told me that they must have forgotten and could they come the following day. I said okay and was told they would be there at 10 AM. They arrived at 9:30, earlier than scheduled.

The move and packing supplies came out to $3946.70 (by Trusted Moving and S 888) not including the deposit, almost 4 times the initial estimate based upon the driver's estimate. He said the furniture was heavy and that it would be better to estimate the move by square foot than by weight.  Since I was expecting a much smaller total amount, I had to transfer money. I was contacted by your office to complete the transaction, again by Visa, for the total amount.

I told the driver that my sister would be receiving the items in Albuquerque NM. I was told that they could be there as soon as the following week. She has been expecting them since 21 May 2012.

Neither I nor my sister has received a call from your company since 21 May 2012. In every instance we have initiated calls you about the move. In those instances when I was guaranteed a return call by thend of the business day, no calls were made by those individuals.

On no less than three occasions I have been told that my move would be picked up. Various excuses have been made by your employees: broken down truck, had to fly a driver in from the east coast, could not find a truck going to New Mexico, etc.

On 5 May 2012 I was first told by Arina that an out of state move could take up to 30 days, as stated on your contract. Last Thursday, I was told it could take up to 30 BUSINESS days. This is not what is written on your contract nor on the email sent from Arina.

As of Friday, 29 June 2012 it will be 30 (thirty) business days. If the move is not completed on or before 5 PM on that date the contract becomes null and void. Now Layla has told me I have to forfeit 70% of my money. 'that's the rules' she said.
