I ordered my Netspend card online to recieve my tax refund. I was to to recieve it the 3rd but by the 8th. They put the wrong name on the card (intentionally if you ask me!) My friend told me not to worry that they'll mail me a check or return to sender!Because they are not allowed to hold it. It is Feb 17 ,2012 and i was kinda worried because i didn't recieve any check yet. So I called the IRS and they said they deposited my refund 2/3/12. So YOU MEAN TO TELL ME NETSPEND IS HOLDING ON TO MY MONEY SINCE 2/3/12! TRYING TO STEAL MY MONEY! NETSPEND IS SOOOOOOOO HARD TO GET ( AND KEEP) SOMEONE ON THE PHONE. WHY DOES THE IRS EVEN DEAL WITH THEM. THEY ARE TRYING TO STEAL MY MONEY! THEY ARE NOT SUPPOSED TO DO THIS. THEY ARE SUPPOSED TO MAIL MY CHECK OR SEND IT BACK TO THE IRS. WHAT IS THIS MADNES? Netspend will steall you tax refund. Do not use Netspend. You are better off getting your refund in a check. Or on a Walmart card! Trust me

First off I am sorry that you had to go through all of this. I work at a bank and unfortunately all financial institutions are required to verify everyones identification, and that is most likely why those documents were requested. The picture on the ID is disregarded since banks are only looking for name, birth date, address, and ssn. So it would be impossible to decline your documents due to your race, I am sure that the fax may have been to dark to read. And banks can not hold onto deposits. If the information is not received the deposits would need to be sent back to the sender so NetSpend would not hold them. I am sure someone that works for them would not say that they were stealing from customers, that is absurd. NetSpend is just following laws set up by our government and I am sorry that it had effected you negatively.
