I have recently been signed up to an email marketing service provided by a UK company called Newzapp. After a year of problems with the software, non existant customer service and absolutely no benefit from it, I am glad to say I am finally finished with this service.

It all started with a member of our staff to do some investigation into email marketing software and services. This was followed by a free trial of a few different email marketing company's, with newzapp being one of them.

We were then called, normally once or twice a week, by a silver tongued salesman, who talked us into signing up for a 1200 annual license. To be honest, from what we were told it could do, and how we were going to be looked after, it sounded great at the time.

As soon as we paid our money that was pretty much the last time we heard from the salesperson or anyone for that matter. Our template took about 10 days to build, and once it was ready we had pretty much forgotten how to use the software. So we contacted newzapp and asked for help, but were pointed to a user guide that was about 60 pages long.

When we did log into the service it seemed to have difficulties in loading images, so when they were sent they would come out much larger than there size in the newzapp editor. Once again we were guided towards the manual from someone at the company and we were once again none the wiser.

The reporting looked extravagent when we trialed the software, but when we went to assess our campaigns we couldnt see them and there were long delays as the slow moving interface loading up. I checked this by logging in at home and the same problems existed.

Our last contact was from a Trevor Munday, who we can only assume was our account manager. He sent us an invoice in the post for our next annual subscription. Which was duly replied with a cancelation of the service.

To sum up, we had a really bad experience with Newzapp and felt the price tag of 1200, in no way reflected what we got back from the product. We probably used the service a handful of times and got very little out of it. A lot of wasted time and frustration was about all I got out of it.
