Nicks Building Supply Lie about production times, failure to deliver Crown Point Indiana
I contacted Nicks Building in September 2017 regarding custom doors for my home. They were very nice and accommodating. I ordered in October 2017, and they requested payment up front. They offered two installments, but said that if I paid in full in would speed up the process. I paid in full. Doors were promised in 6-8 weeks. After the 8 weeks were about to expire, they sent me a strange letter informing me of a fire in their staining factory that occurred in JANUARY of 2017, some 10 months prior to my order being placed. This was the first mention of any fire or other problem in their facility. The letter explains that they need another 6-10 weeks to complete. This is absurd that they would only "discover" that they are delayed after nearly a year! I called when I got the letter, but they never returned my call. I finally got them on the phone in January 2018, and they were nasty on the phone, telling me that they never "promised" anything, just "estimated". I said that an estimate has a real meaning, not just a lie. She didn't care. I said I would file a report, and she said (oddly) "We know how to deal with these internet complaints, so go right ahead". What's odd is that they seem to admit to having had many complaints! They claim they are refunding my money. Very bad company, avoid at all costs.
