Being in this business now for 40+ years I have developed hundreds of long term wonderful relationships with personnel, both active and retired. Now and again you will have this type of person who was most likely reprimanded more than once over flagrant violations of company policies which ultimately led to them being fired. I cannot think of a single episode of this type scenerio where it was not in my agencies and more importantly, in our Clients best interest to terminate these types.
Then, the loser, under protective cover of "anonymous" can spout off fabricated venom which has no basis of truth whatsoever. These people; few who can ever remain employed for any length of time regardless of who has employed them, continue to rant on proving what idiots they truly are. In this case , the persons allegations are almost comical. So serious that I took nearly nine years to respond to them !
I suggest this low life creep take off his black "ISIS" like protective garb and go public with his identity if he wishes there to be any validity to his acquisations. Until then, keep your head in the sand as the real world passes you by.

In their last contract renewal with the City of Redding for Security Services at Redding Municipal Airport, North State Security requested and received a 9 Percent Increase, claiming they need it with the increase in fuel and the fact that they are losing their Armed Officers to the much better paying job working security at Shasta Dam. Here's the kicker: TSA is paying for 100% for 21 hours a day, with the city only paying the remaining 3 hours! Don't believe me? Here's the link from the City's own website: http://www.ci.redding.ca.us/WEBLINK/index.asp?DocumentID=19779&FolderID=19762&SearchHandle=0&DocViewType=ShowImage&LeftPaneType=Hidden&dbid=0&page=1 According to these figures, this means that TSA, per Year, would be paying $219,066 per year! Now, unless NSS has changed policy (And I don't think they have), they only pay their Armed Officer MINIMUM WAGE! But for the sake of argument, lets assume they're paying $9.00/Hr for Armed Officers. There are 7,665 Hours per year that TSA pays for this armed officer. By taking the hours worked and multiplying it by pay per hour, we get the grand total of $68,985 Per Year for the Armed Officers, which means that NSS brings in as PROFIT a grand total of $150,081 per Year. And they wonder WHY they are losing officers to Shasta Dam, whose Federal Contract REQUIRES them to pay a minimum rate of $18.00/Hr Per Officer?!? Oh, and here's a good question for the City of Redding: Why do you contract with a Security Corporation that is BREAKING THE LAW??? Yes, I said it! BREAKING THE LAW! According to the State Business & Professionals Code 7582.26, A Armed Security Officer working for a Contract Security Company must have the Name of his company and the words "PRIVATE SECURITY" on a patch on each shoulder of his uniform, and his badge must also have the name of the company, say "PRIVATE SECURITY" and have a number on it. I suppose NSS is Above the Law, because their patches say: "Security Officer, North State Security, Inc. Calif." and their badges say "North State Security Patrol". They also use the California Seal on both their badges AND their patrol vehicles, which I have to be certain is some violation. Furthermore, the Department of Consumer Affairs Bureau of Security and Investigative Services states that Security Vehicles MUST have the words "Private Security" or "Security Patrol" visible within 50 feet AND that you must have your State Private Patrol Operator (PPO) License Number visible on the vehicle. All NSS Has in a little 6 point star on each side of their vehicle doors and a generic "Security" sticker on the back. Again, a blatant violation of the law! City of Redding Manager Mike Warren, Deputy City Manager Randy Bachman and Airport Manager Rod Dinger: When are you going to step into the 21st Century and leave the "Good Ole Boys" Network back in the era of Tammany Hall where it belongs, and start putting the good of the PEOPLE above the good of your business/golf buddies?!?

I filed the original report, and first of all, I never worked for NSS, but lets say I have a unique understanding of how things are done in the Security Industry in Redding. I am well aware of OSHA and Wage regulations in California, as well as the requirements for being a Contract Security Officer through the Bureau of Security and Investigative Services, a division of the California Department of Consumer Affairs. You mention "In-House" Security. I don't know how it is done in Texas, but in California, registering with BSIS is required if you work with a contract security provider (And a mandatory background check on the state and local level goes with it) whereas to work for an "In-House" provider, you do NOT have to register, and without any assurances the employer is doing a background check, you have no idea if the person in that "In-House" uniform is a convicted child molester or what. I agree that there are merits to using contract versus using "In-House". One of the new laws in California requires that someone contracting with a security provider ensures the amount they pay is enough to cover the costs of the officer or THEY (Not the Security Company) are liable. What will this do? Well, coupled with that, as of July 1, 2004 anybody wanting to work Contract Security are required to undergo 40 hours of training within 6 months of obtaining registration, and 8 hours of continuing education each year to keep their registration, the result is going to be less people putting up with only making Minimum Wage, a smarter working class, and less opportunity for people to be ripped off. Now all that has to be figured out is how to convince the "Good-Ole Boys Network" at City Hall as well as the rest of their clients that in Private Security, you most certainly get what you pay for, and if you don't pay good wage, you certainly are not gonna get anybody worth anything. Thankfully, whom I work for pays well, treats me and my fellow officers like real people, and works with us on issues. Result: Less than a 10% turnover...

First verse same as the first! And I thought the RIP-OFF SECURITY COMPANIES IN TEXAS WERE BAD?????????????!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! As high as the cost of living in in California, with all of those computer people and movie people and defense industry people there HOW DID YOU EVER MANAGE on MINIMUM WAGE? Didn't you guys know about Wage and Hour Laws and OSHA? Also EEOC and "hostile working environment" and "incomplete or no training give for the job," and "being set up for failure," etc. & etc.? See if you can find another way to account for the time you spent working there because your job reference from them is going to make you look like the biggest thief, liar and nut case, etc. who ever walked in their office. At least that's what they do when they boycott you in Texas. If your potential employers do NOT know how rotten the contract security industry is then you are going to have HELL getting another job if you have to rely on these folks for an employment reference. If you are going to get into security work, you better go in-house where the company will treat you almost like a human being instead of disposable toilet tissue like a temp, the way the employers of contract security services providers treat you. The security companies want you young and dumb or they want retired, all-male, all-white elite military unit personnel who were in the service so long they don't know abgout Wages and Hours and OSHA rules and regulations either and don't have to live on this money because they are getting military retirement pay. If you want to stay in this cutthroat business, you need to get a copy of the rules of operation from the agency who licenses security copanies and private investigators, etc. & etc. Learn them. Be able to document them in case you are on the receiving end of their dirty tricks. Learn what to look for in the way of money being wrongfully withheld from you and report that to IRS. I am afraid what you encountered in CA is going to be the wave of the future especially here in Texas where we NOW have more people than jobs! And millions more pouring across the border every day, every hour, every minute! Yes,contract security providers DO hire "illegal aliens" here in Texas. They would pay them as low a pay as they would work for and probably have -- off of the books. The hard part is to prove it and even then, they might get their hand slapped -- if they get any sanctions. GOOD LUCK! You're going to need it. Been there and done that and you have my sympathies.
