We received the customers item and we performed our free evaluation to determine the repair price. During the evaluation process, for all customers, we are trouble shooting the customers electronics to the defective electronic component. In some cases, LIKE THIS ONE, there are electronic components that are "Blown Up" or disintegrated. These components are not reinstalled even if the customer rejects the written quotation and wants their item returned unrepaired. This is because in most cases the parts cannot be reinstalled and or it could be a liability issue. For example, the faulty component could result in a shock or fire hazard. Nyco Systems typical evaluation process takes, anywhere, between five to ten business days. However, we do offer a rush repair service where we will attempt to diagnose and repair a customers item in three days. This time is NOT GUARANTEED. There are a lot of other factors including replacement component availability and the difficulty in diagnosing the failure of the customers item. On very rare occasions we have gotten a customers item in evaluated it, quoted it, and then later determined that the cost of the replacement electronic component was much higher than initially projected. In these rare case we first call the customer and verbally notify them that we cannot repair their item at the originally quoted price and we will have to increase the repair price or return their item unrepaired. Nyco Systems has NEVER, in our ten year existence, re-quoted a repair and doubled the price.
