I went shopping at my local mall. On my way out I was approached by a young guy, larger in size and bloodshot eyes, who said he had to talk to 30 people to help with his public speaking or something. He smooth talked me into sitting down and looking at a list of magazines that would help him win a trip on behave of his marketing school. He said he originated from Maryland and was living with his girlfriend and their 2 pitpulls. However, I thought the story was weird when he told me some outrageous story on how him and his girlfriend met (which I asked, so I think he was lying on the spot). He also talked about how he went to school for marketing, and this was some internship.
I believed him, like an idiot, and donated $32 to a childrens hospital for magazines. I thought it was weird that I HAD to pay with cash. However, that may be a good thing considering it's a scam. He gave me a receipt and that was very hard to think of as scam worthy. If it weren't for the receipt, I would have thought it to be a scam immediately.
After researching this company, and finding virtually nothing on them except other rip off reports, I realized I'd been jipped. I like to think that humanity isn't this pathetic and low, but they are. Even though I was scammed out of $32, I hope that this money helped this poor guys somehow. I hope that his dogs and girlfriend were real, even if the story on how they met is false. I hope that he gets out of this horrible business and, one day, provides an honest living.
Please don't fall into these traps. They talk fast so you don't have time to think, they target the nice people, and they throw in tid bits of their lives so that you feel a connection.
