Phyllis: If they exposed who they were they would go bankrupt, because we would never respond, this way they at least get their shipping money. I contacted Visa and their Security Dept. issued me another number (card) and effectively stopped any further charges, so good luck charging me anything more. If you visit the actual Herbalife website you get a slicker presentation, but in order to get any further info you have to contact a "sponsor" I can't get over the fact that all these sites tell you that you have to take suplements to lose weight, diet and exersise are free and guarantee that you will lose weight, it is sad that people get sucked into these sales schemes. Oh well as I say in my report that I filed I will continue to search for an honest online way to make some extra money. Good Luck

It states in fine print right here That's why our group charges a fee of $9.95 to ship you this package, and an additional $39.95, only if you decide to keep it*. The small fee we charge weeds out the "tire kickers" - and believe it or not - is proven to attract those who are most likely to succeed. I am not defending this company,I only came on here to see if there were any reports on it before I wasted my money. But the site does state the extra $39.95.

Afer weeks of seeing similar adds on TV, I contacted the website www.33venture.com for "free" information about home business. As a former small businessman I had interest and curiosity to see what this home business information was; and also was skeptical and prepared it was one form or another of previous decade's MLM busines ventures I was aware of. Well, after I put my info on the nice website, I as aksed to cover shipping for FedEx overnight in amount of $9.95. OK, I thought, this is not unreasonable, so I did and within minutes, I started receiving e-mails from some Coach thanking me for this and telling me to call at a certain time, not be late, as she was busy with many other customers, and would discuss my information package and questions then. When the package arrived, I watched it with my wife and then I then spoke again to the Coach person and she eventually said it was Herbalife. I wasn't surprised, but also knew of the products from people who used them, and they indeed liked the products. OK, I said, and after reviewing this information package about home business, I wanted to know how to build a business, etc..as my wife and i both are unemployed now and lost our jobs and desperately were seeking something else to help our situation.. Another phone meeting was scheduled with me and this Coach and her mentor a week later. During that call, I was told if I was not ready right now to go forward or invest monies to start a business with this, that they wanted to send me a sample package of products to test out anyway, and maybe I would become a consumer purchaser anyway though I did not want to go into a business mode with them. Before I hung up, I was told I had to pay a shipping charge of $12.95 for this sample package of products and did so, because what was stated in the package, it seemed fair compared to what it would cost me in a store to buy similar. During this last phone call, the Mentor told me how much she was making after a couple years with only a high school education and once lived on $1500.00/month with 3 kids and cleaned homes for a living.. Now this Mentor was making like $25,000.00/month and expecting to hit $100,000.00 within the year.. I was also told other stories of people in this upchain who were making 6 figures in less than 3 years time doing this as a business, and sure, it sounded unbelievable. I know business and all business has costs and investment, and I know to make a Herbalife business according to their structure would require some.. But I like to see all figures and numbers out front with no hidden agendas or decetive techniques... My coach who contacted me was a former mortgage banker for a bank of 23 years and could not say how she wished she knew about this years ago and never wasted time in banking industry.. Within a day, I then get a weird e-mail stating since I decided to not go into business, I requested to return all my "free" information package materials. OK, now why if I paid shipping costs for materials from a TV add to get "free" information, was I supposed to return them I ask? I never talked to the Coach or her mentor about returning anything and thought I would keep them until future time when I could financially invest and take this into a business mode seriously. I NEVER asked or requested to return anything because I paid to get this "free information" to begin with.. Well, in the e-mail, it stated according to my agreement I would be charged an additional fee of $39.95 15 days from date the original free information package was sent out, and I got upset. NEVER once did anyone I spoke with mention this "hidden fee" and looking at the website there is NO mention of it on the order form. But, if you carefully scroll your mouse on the website, way down at bottom of the website where the copyright statement is in light grey, there is a logo label saying "guarantee". Most people would see this and ignore it as just a logo to pump the product, right? Well, if you happen to go to the logo and click, a small separate page does then appear and talks about the additional charge for the free information package if you do not return it to the Ocala, FL. address of BMI.. Who is BMI I ask?? When I mentioned this to my Coach, she stated I knew this and she told me in our initial phone call; but she never did. And the point here, is this unseen statement of extra charges for free materials is purposefully placed and hidden so it is not clear or in the open, so to my estimate, it makes this BMI / Herbalife an additional $39.95 off unsuspecting people who figure they can keep the free information package they paid shipping to receive originally... As a former victim of identity theft and fraud, this all of a sudden turned my interested mentality about this company and its product sour, to that of one of great suspicion to see such slick move incorporated into this "free information" ad from the TV, and to deceive or hide something like this can no longer be "FREE" but only classified as a front fee scam, no different than the famous Nigerian 419 cons out there... Sure I read the information, and sure I discussed surface questions about costs to do what Herbalife stated as a Supervisor level distributor, but going back to the TV website I first contacted, the order form asks some basic information, and then says "let's find a home business that fits you".. or something to that effect. Is it any weird circumstance that I was only contacted by Herbalife after that, because I really expected to receive materials of several home based bsuiness opportunities to investigate, and only get Herbalife.. Regardless, any business venture worth its salt out there, does require due diligence and research and solid information up front so the buyers, investors or whomever interetsed, can make a serious and logical decision to engage in that business- not laced with talk of small charges for shipping of free materials, etc...
