Complaint Review: OnRebate - TigerDirect - Markham Ontario

Well I got all my money finally. The Paypal got through in late May I believe, and the cheque came in mid July though it was mailed in June. I had called them the previous day to get a replacement cheque when it came. They allowed me to cash it, and I just received the replacement cheque, so I will have to see if I have to send it back. It was a very long and drawn out process, and I will think twice before buying because of the rebate. The computer and harddrive that I bought work great.

I made a call a week ago and it would seem that it did some good. I called Tiger Direct and they gave me a 1 800 number to talk to someone directly at Onrebate. The fellow stated that if I didn't get any action within a few week that they would call for me. I called Onrebate and with a little proding they expidited the applications. I got the first rebate via paypal on the 26th of April. The second one will be mailed to me so I am still waiting but if they issued the cheque at the same time, I should see it in about a week.

It has been over nine weeks since they received my rebate aplication (according to their website) and I have not received anything. We hope that we have provided you with excellence service. >Thank you for using OnRebate.com >onrebate.com I did reply to this email that I was very unsatified with their service because I was already supposed to have received it by now and that they were aready overdue. I commented that if I had missed my deadline, I would have been rejected, but I have no recoarse if they decide not to meet their own deadline. If this email that they sent me is at all accurate, it may well be 20 weeks from the time I sent in the rebate forms untill I receive my cheque. I also would like to point out that one of the rebates was to be sent by paypal.

I checked in this morning and this is what I recieved from On-Rebate's site: Rebate Tracking Number: XXXXXXXXXXXXXX Status Date/Time User created in OnRebate 1/8/2005 4:09:16 PM Email was sent for Confirmation 1/8/2005 4:09:16 PM Email was confirmed by the user 1/8/2005 4:24:30 PM Printed out the rebate registration, awaiting receipt of documentation 1/8/2005 4:24:35 PM The Rebate was accepted 2/1/2005 9:43:44 AM Payment Processed: (not yet, an X in this box) So the wheels of progress are still turning, It did take a couple of tries to log on this morning but hopfully this is a non rip off report.

I finally got my second rebate form and I will get it in the mail Monday to start the long wait. I have asked one ($75 computer rebate) to mail the check, the second ($40 HD rebate) to send it Paypal. The products are working well and were not too expensive before the rebates, but with 30% coming back it was a deal clincher for me.
