I'll keep this short, though it doesn't seem that any one else on this site has had similar problems with Oris. For graduation I received an Oris Big Crown watch for a gift. It was supposed to be waterproof to a depth of 50 meters.

After about 4 months I was swimming in my pool one day and noticed significant amounts of condensation on the inside of the watch's crystal. Oris declined to service my watch under the 1 year warranty by claiming that they were certain that the water leaked as a result of me leaving the crown open after setting the watch.

I was traveling when this occurred and the watch was not sent in for 2 months. I'm skeptical that after that long someone could pinpoint where the water entered from. And even if they could, how would they know that I left the crown open as oppossed to the watch being defective to start with.

As a self-proclaimed watch afficionado, I'm certain I would never do anything so careless. I tried to reason with Oris but they would not even compromise on the $260 repair bill. Also I had tried to sue them in small claims court, but in violation of federal law, they do not have an agent in CA for service of process even though they are doing business in this state.

Had they independantly verrified their assertion for me, I would not have such a hard time swallowing this, but it seems to me that having an in house watch maker that clears Oris of responsibility for expensive repairs that are their fault, is nakedly self-serving.
