Around Christmas, I needed some extra money. I went online to apply for a payday loan. I only applied for one like they tell you to and no where on that website were there links to any of the websites that have taken money from me or disclosures saying I would be charged. A few days later two charges- one for $6.98 and the other for $31.65 came out of my checking account from a company called Web Credit Report Co.

I called the customer service number that was provided and they refused to help. The most they would do was cancel my membership and said if I wanted a refund, I needed to fax them a copy of a police report stating fraud. When I asked if there was someone else I could speak with, she said no and hung up on me. So, not only did I lose the money they took, but I didn't know it was coming out of my account so I received two fees of $35 from my bank for the funds not being in my account for those two transactions.

I thought the nightmare was over but I was wrong. 10 days after the first incident, another charge came out of my checking account for $17.93. Add another $35 overdraft fee. This time it was from a company called Payday Loan Resource Center. I, again, called the customer service number that was given and spoke with someone who sounded a lot like the woman I had talked to 10 days earlier that was supposed to be from a different company. The most she would do was cancel my subscription and said that if I wanted a refund I needed to go to my local police and get a statement saying that there was fraud on my account. Then she hung up on me.

The scary part about all of this is I don't know when it's going to stop. I am now out $161.56. I hope someone learns from my mistake. Never apply for payday loans online. They are all scam artists and sell your information. That's how they make money.

FILE THE POLICE REPORTS AND HAVE THE BANK CANCEL YOUR DEBIT CARD AND ISSUE A NEW ONE

You gave them the debit card when you applied and that is why they are charging you. CANCEL IT ASAP - so they can't get anymore money. Even with the police reports I doubt you will get your money back - but you have cancel that debit card so they cannot keep taking money from you. I also suggest you go back AND READ the disclosures on the website you applied on. More than likely it was disclosed that these fees would be charged and you did not bother to read it.
