I purchased glasses from Peerless Optical on 9/19/2009. Upon using the glasses, I noticed an unusual distortion in the top part of the lenses. This distortion is very pronounced while driving at night and causes vertical streaking in the top part of both lenses. I returned to Peerless within a couple of weeks and spoke to Carlos Ayala, the manager. I explained the problem to him and he said he needed to polish the tops of the lenses to reduce the distortion. After picking the glasses back up, the problem had not been corrected.
I came back again and subsequently requested Mr. Ayala to remake my lenses as some type of error or defect must be causing this distortion. He agreed to remake the lenses and said he would call when they were done. Several weeks went by without any call from Peerless. <!--[if !supportEmptyParas]-->When I inquired, I was told They were not in yet. After another week, I inquired again. This time I was told that no replacement lenses were ever ordered for me. Supposedly, the company owner, Gerald Woodard told them he refuses to remake the lenses since they didnt make enough money on them. He told them to only offer me a refund. I requested a telephone call from the owner, but no call was ever returned.
There must be some sort of quality control problem. This use to be a great company but I think they might be on their way out of business.
DO NOT ORDER OR PURCHASE ANYTHING FROM PEERLESS OPTICAL!!

David's response almost one year from the nightmare they put me through makes no sense. I had no ill will; I was a happy customer for many years. How did I try to rip them off? I returned their poor-quality glasses. I did not try to get anything I did not pay for. I'm not a doctor but I think this guy needs psychiatric help!

I just want consumers to know that there are few customers with ill intentions of ripping off optical stores by complaining about a product.
