Complaint Review: Peppershire Devon Rex Cattery - Ruth Mushrush - Joshua Texas

okay, the ad question has been responded to in ROR 412712 - Melissa you have your info wrong. I dont have any ads anywhere for any devon rex cats for sale. I have one neutered male which i proved neuter proff to Ruth Mushrush via the paperwork from the vet. I DID have a female devon i bought elsewhere (not directly from ruth) that was from Peppershire lines and anther from Lilac hill lines which after all that happened with how sick everyone got after i brought in the male from peppershire i sold to a lady who lives in Calgary. She is breeding the cats and I couldnt tell you what she has now or what or where she is advertising. Calgary is in the same province as me but is 2 1/2 hour car drive one way. There are many devon breeders in this province and they may have peppershire lines, I dont care...its not me. i have only one female left and she doesnt live with me so she will stay healthy and not reinfect this is the one I want my papers on.. I am sure you had a very pleasant experience with Mrs.Mushrush, I can tell you, I did not. I am on this site because this is my experience only and if you had of been in my shoes I am sure you would see things differently. It is good to see there are buyers out there that did have a good expierence with Ruth as this gives me hope she will do the right thing and send me my papers. jody

Okay, the report numbers are: 412712, 413543, and 413814. The first two are posted by Jody, and the last is about Jody from what appears to be another defender of the breeder. There is definantly some conflicting information in some of these reports. Like in your two ROR's you say: I told her i dont even care about papers on the male even though i paid for a registered male, i just want the papers on the girl...that is all... But in 41384 you say: I posted two reports on this person after trying to get my papers on two kittens i bought from her that were extremely sick over a year ago. I live in Canada she in the states so this is my only recourse to get her to make good on the registration papers. Also the report 41384 says you never paid in full for your kittens, and clearly she never received even one of the two kittens which were a part of the deal according to you. This would be a very valid reason for withholding registration papers. Could there have also been some sort of co-ownership agreement in effect until they were paid for and her kittens received? She can have them registered in her name or in both or something, and then transfer after the agreement is fulfilled. Also, you say the kittens were ill upon arrival, but there DOES need to be a health certificate to ship, so when was it filled out and when did they arrive? How soon did you take them to the vet (site says 3 days and they are also leukemia and aids tested in addition to the health certificate for shipping)? Report number 41384 says he became ill 2 months after being in your care, and we know they were exposed to other cats, some of which may be shown (where illnesses can run rampant), during that 2 month period. So, when did he become ill? Also, did you tell them that you had put him down? And the ad posted in 412712 and 413543 also brings to mind a few questions. You said: and i still have the sick male from Ruth (Peppershire devons) and at one point thought i would put him down but have decided to live with his special needs and knowing he wont be a long lived cat. I have had him neutered in the mean time. - But, the ad says: have a black devon rex male kitten born june 11/08 with breeding rights for sale. purchased from a breeder in august/08, have decided not to breed devons. he is of peppershire and kotickee lines, have his pedigree - So, if this is the offspring of this kitten, how does he have papers, and how did you breed a neutered tom, and why, if he was as unhealthy as you say? I am very confused here. Have you sent the breeder any documentation on any of this? Not just letters from the vet, but actual copies of the records as well? - You said: i simply asked if it was ok that i did not have to send her a kitten back on him..still honoring my commitment on the female. She agreed that would be fine...but now wont send the papers even though the litters have been registered..she is now demanding 1200 dollars more when all i owe here is one kitten..it was her decision to not take a kitten back. - If you thought it best to alter the original agreement due to the fact that you thought he should be a companion animal due to his health, did you not provide her all this information and proof of neuter appropriately identifying him so she knew you were being up front and truthful? Was her decision to alter the original agreement depending on this documentation? Could the $1200 be because you did not pay for both of the kittens? Were you to pay some sort of discounted price for each kitten, and then send her a kitten from each? Could there have been some misunderstanding on that point? Was this agreement in writing? Do you have a purchase agreement on each kitten and is there a price and/or stipulation on each one? Could you still owe her some of the purchase price, one kitten from the female, and documentation on the male in order to alter the agreement to just the one kitten from the female? Ideally we would all be able to review all paperwork, but I guess that's enough questions from me for now.*just my opinions*

Yep, if the story is as you say, this posting is a result of her own actions. Besides, you can't take it off, lol. Have her read all the information at the beginning of this site. It explains exactly why these reports are not removed even at the original poster's request. Because if others find it and post, it can show a pattern. BUT, you can post another update if she chooses to uphold the agreement, and let us know that. If she's that upset about it, why didn't she post a rebuttal explaining things from her side?

Update. as of Janurary 19-2009 I have had to block Ruth Mushrush from my phone service as she has started using threatening phone calls to try to get me to take my story off. I will not bow down to school yard bullying. She needs to send the papers not spend hours throughout the night calling and threatening. I answered the phone once at 1:00 am and she threatened to murder me. Of course I hung up the phone, turned off the ringer. When I got up this morning there were nine calls from her, rambling on and on. here is an example of one of those emails..it is cut and pasted directly from my email, it refers to the fact i have posted my experience with her (Ruth Mushrush) on rip off reports: "I will never stop all day all night you have done this to me I will never go away Never never so you had better fix the problem change your number I don't care I will find you HAHA Maybe you better move I will call sun up to sun down till you tell the truth You can block me but I will find you CRAZY" she has brought this on herself...had she done the right thing and sent the papers none of this would of happened but I just wont walk away and she doesnt like that.
