I received the following email:

Dear Applicant,

Your resume has been reviewed by our HR Department in reference to our AD posted on www.xxxxxxx.com for the position of an Admin/Account/Data Entry Assistant we believe you are capable of handling this position based on your resume. Your details has been forwarded to Mr Hatley Jones (Hiring Manager). Of PERS development Company he would be conducting an online interview with you to discuss the Job Details, Pay Scale and Benefits, etc.

You are to set up a screen name with yahoo instant messenger and add up the company Hiring Manager's yahoo screen name ([email protected]) and instant message him for an online interview/briefing exercise.If you don't have a yahoo messenger on your computer,Then go to www.messenger.yahoo.com to download one for free then Set up an ID with yahoo messenger.He is online waiting for you.

The schedule time for the interview/briefing exercise is ASAP, you are to be available on yahoo messenger as soon as possible for the interview, We await your swift respond to this position as the job starts ASAP. I wish you best of luck.

I subsequently googled everthing in the email went to the BBB and the Chamber of Commerce in Washington DC and discovered that this was a scam.  I saved myself from financial ruin but came close.  Ah well on with the job hunt.  I will report this to the police.
