Tell us has your experience with this business or person been good? What's this?
I initially purchased and had installed a "newly rebuilt Transmission" for my 1994 Chevy Full Size Blazer (which had a little over 200,000 miles on it at that time). It was 4 times longer than I was initially told in terms of downtime for my truck, mind you I work security....no truck no work! The price was higher due to "issues with the removal, the core, and the reinstall"! That was bad, but I thought " I am thru the worst of it now and have hte truck back". Wrong!!!!!!!!!

I had the truck back for less than 4 mos. Then Surprise surprise (not for anyone that has dealt with them), My transmission went.... now when I buy used, I don't expect the item to last as long as new would, but AT LEAST ONE THIRD OF THAT TIME should not be to much to ask??? Right?? WRONG, I HAD bought the extended warranty, DID NO GOOD> the mileage was less than 1200 over warranty and I was only 3 to 4 mos into a 12 month warranty. BUT NOPE>>>> That was said ONLY once, I set the record straight very quickly on that, willing to back up with phone records, etc.!

THEN as I continued to have issues with the NEW one, still unable to get them (primarily John the "SERVICE MANAGER"), and his newest cohort Vicki) to return phone calls or schedule ANY kind of an appointment to have it CHECKED BEFORE IT WENT. So now here I sit NO TRUCK AGAIN, WITH THE PROMISE OF LOOKING AT IT PERSONALLY (this by John), Mon "if at ALL possible, but TUES at the latest, and the one call wasn't even FROM JOHN.... SO BUYERS BEWARE>>>> no not Even Beware.. when it comes to THIS company RUN RUN as fast and as far as You can, but DO NOT< I repeat DO NOT do business with them!!!

Mike get a grip

Well, I don't know where to start. I was a customer of this company and was told by someone about this website. Let me first say I visited the website and searched the company merely because I was curious what kind of things are posted here. I also searched other companies I have frequented. Mike, I think you need to get a grip. Every time I dealt with this company they have been courteous and honest with me. If I had a problem, they were always responsive in assisting with it. Even more surprising is the fools who read your garbage and take it as gospel, swearing to "never do business with this company!" Quite honestly, as an objective reader, my opinion is that you never responded to Frank's request for information, and you don't appear to read everything, you read what you would like to read, ignoring things that you don't care to hear. One point of advice: please consult a dictionary in the future. If you insist on filling up this website with further meaningless information because you appear to have a problem with someone, you can at least learn to spell correctly. To all those who have never done business with this company: I have dealt with them several times, and as I said before, never had a problem. I can't think of a single business you go to where people are not busy, sometimes too busy, and you just have to deal with it. It doesn't mean that you don't have to wait in line like everyone else. It also doesn't mean that the company cannot take care of you. Since I worked in the customer service field for quite awhile, I know what it's like to deal with problems and try to correct them to help people out. Sane, logical people understand this and appreciate the assistance. Others do not understand this and continue to make life hell for the employees and/or manager of the company. So... Mike, even though you may have a problem, just try to be reasonable and actually answer their questions, and guess what? You might actually get what you want.

I too was ripped off by this company. We are not alone this list is numerous. Look under Phoenix Hard Parts, Phoenix Remanufactoring Transmissions, Silverado Industries LLC. Understand that this guy is a member of the board of directors with the Phoenix Better Business Bureau. Recommend That you file compalints with BBB, Arizona Attorney Generalas well. Links follow: www.bbb.com www.azag.gov/consumer/complaint_instructions_eng.html Do not let go without a fight.

This email is to inform people everyone that my original report was missing some vital information, and I want to correct that now. When the second transmission was put in to replace the first one that went bad....John Gave me a 16,000 mile 16 month warranty on it. That WAS and IS an allowance that DID NOT have to be made, and I do appreciate it, and now that my truck is almost ready to be released to me, I have been informed that there is a code on the engine that "could have led to the trans issue" but nonetheless Phoenix Hard Parts DID replace the transmission with a newly rebuilt one, and DID NOT charge me any ADDITIONAL money to do so. Looks like my truck will be released at 0700 Friday morning (10/21), and Hopefully will NOT need additional "HELP" at any time in the future...be it near OR FAR.!!! So while it has NOT been a good JOURNEY, it is ITFAW, a good destination in this travellers book anyways. So, thank You for Your website and the opportunity to vent, lets hope that all will continue to improve with this company as well as others.

Take the repair estimate from the shop you trust and decide if you can file in small claims court.

Hmmmmm...Your transmission is either a 4L60E, or a 4L80E. Neither of these are known for premature failures. I would suggest taking it to a shop you feel better with, as Marc has offered, and get their prognosis. Have them figure out what went wrong with the transmission. Hard parts breakage is caused by abuse, nothing else. Soft parts will be the key here. As he said, alot of vehicle owners don't want the job done correctly($$), and alot of shop owners want to save themselves the expense of doing it right. I can tell you for certain, that a transmission job with a very short warranty period, usually 6 months, is not done correctly. If the car has forward, but no reverse, the shop will fix reverse and kick it out the door. When you bring it back because it no longer has forward gears, the shop will show you your invoice for repairing reverse only. If the repair price is low(call around to get rough estimates...I know Ben, that's crazy-talk) compared to what every other shop wants, the piston seals are being ignored. Those need to be replaced, and take nearly all of the time required to properly rebuild the transmission. Without replacing them, the job can be "benched" in about an hour, and the transmission will fail shortly after the warranty period...usually 6 months. Take the repair estimate from the shop you trust and decide if you can file in small claims court. You may have a chance if the transmission shows proof of a bad rebuild. If the rebuild was not done according to what you requested on the repair order, your chances are better. good luck.

Transmission should last longer

#6Consumer Suggestion

I know the warranty was up, but it doesn't really justify it failing at that point. A proper rebuild should last more than 100,000 miles. The problem I see in my travels fall into two catagories. Either the car owner tells the shop to skimp on parts to save money, (the pump, modulator, converter) but more often a shady shop will simply swap in a junkyard transmission or do a band-aid repair and pray it lasts for a year. That's why the delay, they possibly had to find a trans for the car and have it shipped in. It only takes a day or two for a proper shop to do a trans. To knowingly repair an automobile to last just until the warranty is up, knowing you've screwed your customer, is just unethical. Unfortunately, it's an all-too-common practice, and very difficult to prove in court. My advice is to research actual customers and find out who has a good reputation for doing good work with minimal comebacks.

in response to "what is the complaint"

I perhaps did not make myself clear, I had issues with the transmission from the gate! To which I got NO response or got put off etc, and yes I did let that happen, my bad... however I am still ?naive? enough to believe in "Good Business Practices" and in keeping your word, and this did not happen JUST the one time...It Happened TWICE, THEY just got unlucky enough for this one to be a) under warranty, and b) I WILL NOT LET myself be put off anymore... also I stated I don't expect it to last forever, but I do know that FOR THE MOST PART, a warranty term does not mean that upon expiration of the warranty... the PART (or whatever it may be), does NOT also EXPIRE>>> Our world is NOT quite that disposable YET>>> SO perhaps you should, better read what You respond to, and if there is nothing constructive to say, or an avenue for me to follow, and I don't request Your input, leave it alone, Please. Thank you.

What is the complaint?

#8Consumer Comment

The transmission lasted through it's warranty period. What is the complaint? If I buy a refrigerator with a 2 year warranty, I expect 2 years without failure. If it goes bad after that period, oh well. If I buy a car with a 3 year/36000 mile warranty, I expect it to last that long without failure. You got 1200 miles more than the warranty allowed. A 12/12 warranty does not mean 12 months or 12K miles, whichever comes LAST.
