Well, i went to work Friday, Nov. 16, 2007. I had to wear my brown khaki pants bc all my black pants were in the washer (which is the right color you are suppose to wear), but i thought the manager was going to let me slide this time since they were at least pants, bc once before i went in wearin basketball shorts and they let me stay that time. Well i go in that night and than they dont let me stay! they say i can go home and come back when my pants are all dry. So an hour later i go back in and they than said that i am fired and that i have to leave than and there. A few weeks later i am in jail and i ask my mom to go and get my last check from them and they told her that i did not have a last check. I get out and i go and confront them about it. They than say that they gave my last check to my mother. So i say to let me see who signed for it. They say that they cant do that bc that is not something that they are allowed to do!! I ask them again, and now they say that they cant find it meaning that is just walked right off of where they put it down at and has now disappeared!! WTF!! How in the world does that happen. I dont know what to do about seeing how to get my check back. If anyone is reading this that does, please contact me A.S.A.P.!!

Call the DOL for your state. Tell them the length of time you were employed. Tell them the last pay period your were paid for. Tell them that you have not seen a final check. They can (and usually do) call the Pizza Hut manager and ask for confirmation of employment and when you left. They will ask for documentation that you were paid for all pay periods and all hours worked. Try that instead of suing to begin with. Be sure to have copies of pay stubs if possible if not call Pizza Hut corporate and speak to payroll folks. Good luck

Just a question, did you turn in all your uniforms that were issued. If so, then there should be no problems with you getting your check. If they lost it and you know how many hours that you worked that week, then ask them to find your check as it should be in an envelope. If it still cannot be found, then ask for a duplicate check as you did not recieve it. Failing that, and you have proof of hours worked such as calendar with your schedule, then sue in small claims court. Good luck.
