i was a member of Golds gym since 12/18/2003 and just recently golds gym was taken over by planet fitness. In June 2006 planet fitness took over golds gym and took almost all the training machines and the maximum weight one can lift is 60lbs.

well they never informed me that i owe golds gym any money, saying my card was declined.

1.) they sugned me up never informing me of this.

2.) in my golds gym contract i paid for the first and last month of my membership meaning if i decide to cancel my membership my first and last month is paid for i.e if i canceled in June i can still use the july since i already paid for june, which mean golds gym charged me every beginning of the month.

3.) i transferred over to planet fitness on June 14th and my credit is always billed on 3rd day of the month.

4.)when i was been informed that my credit card was declined by a golds gym member i told them i was cancelling my member, which means my june payment was paid for.

5.)planet fitness came in the picture and told me to join them and they were giving me better deal.(deal was i would pay them $10 a month instaed i was paying Golds gym $29.95 a month)

6.)i became planet fitness member on june 14th and they charged me $19.05 as they couldnt find my contract and they gave me a break. and advised me that i would be billed in july for my first bill.

7.)today when i went to the gym, the manager called me, degraded me, and i totally felt discriminated as he pointed out i was incompitent. and said i cant use the club as i owe golds gym.

8.) i checked my golds gym membership and saw that and quote "Golds gym enterprises, inc.,golds gym merchandising inc or any related corporation is not the owner of this golds gym facility. the owner of this facility has been licensed by golds gym enterprises inc.,to use golds gym marks in connection with its operation. neither golds gym enterprises inc.,golds gym merchandising inc or any related corporation, is contractually or otherwise liable to you as the owner is solely liable for the debts and obligations of this facility..."

9.)i totally felt discriminated as i have the accent and he asked me to leave the premises as he couldnt understnd.

10.)oneday when i was working out one of the employee came and made fun of me saying i should get a towel from my house as i was heavily sweating. so many people heard it and i was totally embarassed and i did reminded her that planet has they moto on the wall saying there are no judging in that gym.

I need to take action against them. as this is affacting more when i think about it...

Please help.

Inaccurate claims of "racism" or "discrimination" drive me batty, but oh man, senseless defense of an entity based solely on the fact that the defender has "never had it happen TO ME" - that's enraging!!! What kind of blind and willful ignorance does THAT attitude stem from?? "Never happened TO ME - therefore COULD NOT HAVE HAPPENED TO ANYONE". Whether the OP's claims are true or not, Todd's response should be completely ignored.

you are absolutely incorrect i have been a memeber of planet fitness for 4 years now and have had nothing but respect from everyone there i am a member in Hamden CT and totally love it I have the black card membership and am impressed that i can go all over the country for 21.19 a month it is an incredibly awesome place
