Mike Hannahs, PMCS was hired through Thumbtack in May 2016 to remodel our bathroom and kitchen. We have a rough contract, listing what Mike will install, cost and money needed to start. He also promise other items to my husband and I in conversation. Mike has removed himself from Thumbtack but he did have good reviews.
Mike stated he would start May 31, 2016 and that is when the excuses started. Mike worked June 22, 23, 24, 28, 29, 30 and July 1, 2 working on bathroom. We had to use a shower curtain because the glass was not installed. Mike had someone else come in and put down the floor. Mike returned to work on bathroom August 10,11,12. Blake Glass company, Newark, OH installed our glass shower wall, in September.
We started to try to get our kitchen cabinets and flooring delivery. Mike gave my husband and I excuses. We finally gave him a deadline of November 30 to have cabinets and flooring delivered. Then he offered my husband his money back and would return the money on December 5,2016, more excuses. We received no refund.
The bathroom still needs the edge of the shower complete, the shower glass wall was suppose to be frosted, he offered a decal from Signs Now, Heath, OH he would pay for that being installed of the decal. Mike also said he would paint window seal, he did not. I painted the window seal, touched up the his painting job and he never painted the wall behind the commode. I also complete that. Mike was to place a caulking from the vanity to the wall, he did not.
Mike put white caulking on three of the four edges in the shower, our shower has grey grout. There was also suppose to be caulking placed where shower and floor meet.
We gave Mike a $6000.00 check on May 9, 2016 and another check on May 20, 2016 for $3000.00. Mike ask for more money and we said no. Mike never started our kitchen but promised many times a start date. Mike mostly responded through text messageing, he will not answer our calls.
The bathroom cost $4325.00. Mike did not finish the bathroom as listed on his contract. He did not remove the debris, finish painting, finish edge of shower and decal on shower wall.

Since my report Mike has return some of the money he owes us, charging us extra for some of his work. Mike did comment only in text he would come back and address our issues. There is no way I want in my home, he has made my remodeling a nightmare. We will cut our losses.
Mike really done us wrong with broken promises, incomplete work and no bathroom should taken this long to install. We worked with Mike 7 months, trying to get him to do right, complete the bathroom as he promised, remodel the kitchen and 7 months we gave up. We asked him for a refund before and Mike always wanted to finish the remodel.
This started in May and now is over in December. I will advise everyone Mike Hannahs, PMCS will promise what ever you want but you will not be pleased with his work, his work hours and his constant excuses.
Lesson learned never to hired contractor without a professional contract, everything written down and never give any money up front to get started.
