On 2/10/19 around 7:20pm I visited Popeyes #3540. I presented 2 receipts to Hyatt with proper Validation Codes provided by tellpopeyes.com that entitles me to “enjoy two pieces of chicken and a biscuit free with a purchase of a large drink.”  I volunteered that I know that I am only supposed to use one coupon but I have an adult passenger in the car that I could bring in to use the other one.

Hyatt, General Manager, examined the receipts and said he could not honor them because the receipts were not from his store.  I asked him if that was a new Popeye policy.  He told me it was on the receipt and I asked him to show it to me. He read 'bring back receipt with validation code.”  I shared that such does not say bring back to the Popeyes where the purchase was made. I asked if one purchases in another state one has to return to that state and store to enjoy the offer. Hyatt said yes.

I further shared that I have used receipts from other locations at this store about once a month when I visit the area. He told me that I had not. I told him that two shift managers had honored my receipts as well as one employee that was working drive thru at the time of our discussion. He told me they had not. I told him I could easily prove such with credit card documentation if needed.

I told him I’d contact Corporate HQ to seek understanding and resolution. I spoke with a store manager at another location and was told: 1) Popeyes #3540 is privately owned, 2) often privately owned stores do not follow the rules because they do not fall under Corp HQ, 3) there is no District Manager, 4) the owner is the only person I can appeal to, and 5) I could catch the owner in the store usually on a Monday doing paperwork.

On 2/11/19, I did attempt to speak with the owner of the store but was told he was not there.  I also contacted Corp HQ and requested someone call to address my concerns (that is not employed at that store).
