Port Promotions Shore Excursion no-show Plantation Florida
We recently took an Alaskan cruise and booked a shore excursion in Skagway through portpromotions.com. When we appeared at the appointed time and place, the company that was supposed to provide the excursion didn't show up. The local phone number we had been given to contact in Skagway was not a functioning number. We were stuck.
I sent 3 emails to Port Promotions which were ignored. Their website does not provide an address or phone number but I was able to find their phone number from a posting on Ripoff Report. When I reached them, I was able to talk only to a receptionist who relayed my complaints to persons unknown. They issued a refund (they had already charged my credit card) but I never got an explanation or apology.
Once the opportunity for a shore excursion is lost, it is gone forever. This was a significant loss to my wife and myself. I recommend that you avoid using this company. It does not appear that they care about their customers nor have they done the due diligence necessary to ensure that the excursion providers with whom they contract are legitimate or reliable. Amazingly, portpromotions.com still offers this excursion (Glacier Flight Seeing and Chilkat Eagle Preserve Raft Trip) on their web site.

Mike, Can I know what day was your tour? I book the Alaska 3 days tour through them too which was 5/18,19,20 this year, but I never received the confirmation email until I came back from the cruise and guess what? they sent out the confirmation on 5/19 which is the 2nd day of tour started. Of cause I didn't go to the tour without the confirmation and now they insist that we went on the tour and charged my credit card. I am still dispute this charge with my credit card company. Since I saw your posting said thet the tour guide never show up on that day, so I like to know if we were booked the same day tour.
