Hello Again,
This is taken from page 27 of the brochure sent to me from the company Movers Rights and Responsibilities. 'Furnished by
Your Mover, as Required by Federal Law.'
"Transport of Shipments on Two or More Vehicles
Although all movers try to move each shipment on one truck, it becomes necessary, at times, to divide a shipment among two or more trucks. This may occur if your mover has underestimated the cubic feet (meters) of space required for your shipment and it will not all fit on the first truck. Your mover will pick up the remainder, or 'leave behind,' on a second truck at a later time, and this part of your shipment may arrive at the destination later than the first truck. When this occurs, your transportation charges will be determined as if the entire shipment had moved on one truck."
Let me begin by saying that nothing was underestimated by the moving company. All of my good could have fit in the first truck. However I was told by the driver that since I paid in full the company figured they didn't have to deliver all my stuff at once? There was an entire other shipment on that truck other than mine.
So today 8 Aug 12, I received a call from the Driver Anthony today (718-612-2147). He tells me that he is driving an 18 wheeler and it may not fit on the small streets of Annandale. So I may be required to pay a shuttle service fee? I am absolutely infuriated by this. See the above paragraph taken from your pdf that you sent to me. There is no reason that I should have to pay an additional fee because your company failed to plan accordingly.
I called and spoke with Ryan in customer service. Ryan would not give me his last name nor would he provide me with a point of contact in management. He was no help at all and told me that as of right now I am not paying a shuttle fee so he doesn't know what I am arguing about. I informed him that if it wasn't such a big deal all I am asking is that he or one of these elusive managers call this driver and explain to him that the shuttle service fee is not to charged in this instance since it was the company (PRIORITY 1) who messed up the shipment and I shouldn't have to be charged more for the company's poor planning and execution.
He told me that if tomorrow they charge me a shuttle fee I need to call back and they will try to diffuse the situation at that time. Let me point out that I was on hold for over an HOUR waiting for this man.
What kind of company has managers who will not speak to its customers?
I would hope that someone there will do the right thing and waive this shuttle service fee should it arise.
This is by far (by leaps and bounds) the worst moving company I have ever dealt with in my adult life.
