I had used Public Storage in Sunland, CA for a few years.  After one locker was broken into and I was robbed I filed a claim with Willis Insurance which is owned by Public Storage and they make you buy the insurance when you rent from them.  I received very little in compensation and thinking that a robbery wouldn't happen again I moved to another smaller locker on the same floor.  Public Storage called me in early November 2011 to say there may have been a break in and I should check my locker whenever convenient for me.  I immediately went to the locker and found the lock picked and all my valuable possessions gone.  I filed a police report and worked with the detective to dust the locker for prints.  A suspect was apprehended, confessed,  and then let go on probation.  Four other lockers on my floor were robbed but I was hit the hardest.  There are no security cameras in the facility and I don't think the management ever check for break ins unless a tenant notifies them of one.  The management was very rude to me and continued to charge me rent and late fees.  I am seeking a law firm to file a class action suit against Public Storage for their gross negligence and possible implication in conducting the robberies through their employees.  I warn everyone to never rent at a Public Storage facility.

I have had the same exact experience with a public storage facility! This has likely happened to many people probably across the entire country! PS has over 2000 facilities across the US!! Robbing people of their personal possessions, many times items that cannot be replaced!! They don't care! The district manager didn't care at all!! This is so wrong and something should be done!

Wondering did you ever file a suit against them? The same thing happened to me and others at another public storage facility and no one was informed of burglaries.
