Tell us has your experience with this business or person been good? What's this?

Public Storage has randomly raised rents on my unit approx. 28% in the past 1 1/2 yrs. I looked at my contract and no where does it state that they will, and can raise my monthly rent. There is also no CAP. Even cities have rent increase caps. Don't understand why this is not regulated. Also, this particular storage facility contract, company or employees do NOT provide customers this information so the customer is left defenseless and with not enough warning that this MAY occur. THEY don't say a word at the time of the contract that the rent is subject to monthly rent increases. If not mistaken, these are bad business practices and even mortgage companies are held liable for not disclosing any type of raise in rates. They (mortage companies or any financial institution) fully list out what, if any, increases will be.  This should be a part of the Class Action Lawsuit as for not properly disclosing potential rate increases to the customer, without proper consent or authorization from the customer.  It's not fair to assume that a customer is agreeing to pay the increased rent BY paying the rent, as in so many cases, the customer cannot move out of the unit quickly for various reasons and is forced to pay the increase or face lien charges and sale of unit items.  Please contact me if any questions. Thank you.
