John Rosello is a incompetent engine builder and a liar. I hired him to build my AMC 401 engine. I found him on the AMC FORUM and he pitched me that he would build it with LS style mini shaft heads. I told him that it must make at least 500 HP. He built it and it only could get 470 HP and told me he couldn't build the LS heads because he failed to do it 3 times. He told me he would put Edelbrock heads instead. I received the engine and installed it in my car and it never started. It then seized and wouldn't crank.

I paid him $10,000 and he said it's not his problem when I asked him to refund my money. I'm now stuck with a junk engine and he won't back up his work. Stay away from him at all costs. He's incompetent and doesn't have the skills or equipment to build an engine and he farms out most if his work.

Steve Alimorong 1hmcSr · I will explain the results of what my mechanic and I found when we tore the 401 down that John Rossello/RBJ RACING built. First off my mechanic owns a vintage car restoration shop for the last 41 yrs. He also worked with NASCAR teams and rebuilds engines, He knows what he's doing. I met him only this past July Thank God

First off we pulled the intake and found that the valley pan wasn't glued down. Major chunks of metal in the oil. Lifters looked like they had 300,000 miles on them, badly worn. Drained the oil and found major chunks, pulled oil pan, bigger chunks. Next pulled the heads and found oil and antifreeze ON TOP of the pistons. It was determined at this point he take it to the machine shop where he also works. Upon disassembly Piston rod bolts only hand tight.

All main bearing's worn down to nothing, burnt. Crank badly scored, sent for polishing. Pistons burnt, rings shot. I sent him my 401 block that was magnafluxed and ready to go, however he didn't even use my block. This one was sleeved and one sleeve was hanging out of the bottom! No hone marks found on any cylinders. So we have determined that when he called me when it was on the dyno and he could only get 474 HP out of it, I told him that wasn't our agreement, out of the box I told him i needed 500HP min.

he hammered it to achieve that goal but only got 482 HP when he called me back. I said fine, just send it. He never rechecked it and just crated it and sent it to me. I'm prolly forgetting more but this is enough. I now have a bill for $3500 ON TOP OF THE $10,000 I paid This incompetent hack. They are giving me a break because they feel sorry. Should be thousands more to correct and save it.

I have confronted John and he won't refund my money. He says he will fix it if I send it back to him. I won't after seeing his results and he won't get anything ever again from me. I DON'T TRUST HIM! Send it back to him so he can do more of the same? I DON'T THINK SO! So he won't refund my 10k and didn't even offer a settlement sum. He knows what he did and still says it's MY FAULT!

Mind you this engine never even started since I put it in my car! After finding all the damage is it there any wonder to why it didn't? I have many pics to back this up as it was well documented but I can't figure out how to post on here. BOTTOM LINE; THIS GUY IS A CROOK AND AN INCOMPETENT HACK! STEER CLEAR OF THIS RIP OFF ARTIST!

Steve Alimorong of Kentland IN had an engine built by my shop RBJ Racing of Robersonville NC. When completed, and after extensively running his engine on an engine dynomometer, I provided video and power results to Steve. He received the engine and approximately eight months later, he installed the engine in his vehicle.

I received a call from Steve because he cold not get the engine running in his car. I told him, it is something he is doing wrong or someghing in the car is preventing the engine from starting because I verrified his engne is fine on the dyno.

Long story of back and forth short, he said, I need to fly out there or send someone over to get it running. I said I would be happy to have the engine shipped back and if anything is wrong fix it, but flying out or paying sending someone I do not konw to go to your house is unreasonable.

He said, I will take it to the next level and blow up your business on the internet and that is what he did. This is why I am writing this rebuttal. Steve Alimorong is completely unreasonable and unwilling to handle this matter professionally.

I have not heard from Steve in months so it is obvious someone figured out what he was doing wrong and fixed it. I say someone else because Steve Alimorong litterally did not know the difference between a 5/8 and 13/16 spark plug socket. This is who I am dealing with here and who made this false report.
