Please hold Walmart responsible for selling bad TV's with the brand name RCA! I want my money back and I am considering a class action law suit against Walmart and RCA. Walmart reports that they can not accept an exchange/return purchased from their electronics department 3 months after purchase date. There have been numerous complaints filed online about disservice from RCA failing to honor their 1 year warranties on their High Definition Flat Screen TV Sets and other DVD products such as my RCA 32" LCD TV/DVD combo. RCA gives the run around and will not authorize service with a valid warranty unless you call a hotline number that no one picks up on at the other end, their hours are eastern time 8-5, but no one is there taking calls during that time. There is only one service center that takes RCA warranties in our entire metro area and it is located in Vancouver,WA in another state. This repair shop cannot help us unless they get the "OK" from RCA first, and that we must call the RCA hotline number that no one picks up on to get that "OK". If RCA has lost money and cannot operate as a company by fulfilling their purchase agreement with its customers, consumers must be warned that they are throwing their money away on a bad investment. I did not have the money to buy a new flat screen TV for years. I felt I was the last person to be able to afford a "state of the art" TV. I had to wait until I received my tax refund to be able to upgrade from my 13" analog model. Please warn others that they cannot be given a valid warranty from Walmart if they purchase an RCA there. Be warned, I wish I was. Walmart needs to be held accountable and pull these products from their shelves, instead of promoting them to the public for quick profit and gain at the expense of their customers' loss and confidence. If I ever buy another TV it will not be at Walmart, now I know better, nor, will I buy an RCA anywhere else! What good is a guarantee if it is not satisfied? It is none at all! I rate Walmart/RCA a zero for their zero in responsibility and consumer protection.

RCA should offer a 1 year warranty on that.

But that is in no way Walmarts fault.

And Tv's don't make that much profit.  Some even lose money.  Just to give you an idea, the TV you are talking about makes about $20 for walmart where a $20 wall to usb charger makes about $15.

It''s OK now you can disregard my previous dispute

Not Satisfied After All, Second Repair Failed

The RCA 32" LCD HDTV/DVD Combo Color Beyond Reality purchased 2-21-2009 needed a second repair at age 10 months.

RCA refused the repair due to discontinuing of specific part manufacturing.

RCA now owned by Thompson knowingly sold defective TV's with discontinued parts for their 2009 product to Walmart for sale on Walmart store shelves.

The Thompson group offered (by phone) to replace the TV with a refurbished one from a representative in Texas from their warehouse in Aurora, IL at a cost to me of an additional $99.95

I find this to be unacceptable.

When I spoke to their Customer Relations Rep. She was very unprofessional and said in no uncertain terms that I could not have my money back. This conversation was made during my full one year warranty.

This information cost me an hour's worth of cell phone minutes. They put me on hold unlimited times with long intervals of an instrumental called Take Five. It showed how much they want to take.

RCA Paid For My Repair, My 32" works fine now, I am satisfied, thanks RCA for following through for me

I want to update my report. It took a couple of months of my TV sitting in the repair shop with phone call pingpong and faxing of purchase information to them but RCA finally gave the OK and authorized the repair. Two parts were ordered and RCA paid the bill including labor. My TV is better than ever. Great picture now. Thanks RCA. It was good to be without TV for awhile. My electric bill went way down. RCA and Walmart are off the hook. Great job guys. Thanks for caring and following through for me. Last but not least, thanks Rip Off Report. You were here at the beginning and end to let me express my complaint and satisfaction for my investment. Now my world is hunky dory. Ha Ha :) Note: Save your receipts for one year. And pray a lot. You will get results if you stay the course. RCA delivered. Walmart is a step ahead of other stores they show they care with state of the art bike racks out front. We can forgive RCA and Walmart they deserve a second chance. My TV is like new. My advice is keep it off during the hot weather.

As I have read from others, your Google postings of this, that, and the other thing are irrelevant to any topic at hand with regards to Wal-Mart.  You are just trying to get attention like a child does.  Therefore I will treat you like one.

No matter what anyone has posted as a legitimate complaint, you always come up with the same old B.S. Google topics that have nothing to do with the stated complaint/complaints.

You seriously need to get a life, and your maturity level sinks to an all time low!!  Try working for a living, or get a constructive hobby.  Better yet, get married.....  If any woman would tolerate your B.S.

Why don't you stop polluting the airwaves.  Nothing you say is ever constructive, or relevant towards any complaint.  You act, and sound like a moron!  Why don't you try, and aid someone sometime?!

I've seen your garbage posted everywhere, and that's just what it is GARBAGE!!!

Grow up dude!

Wal-Mart going cheap.

I work for Wal-Mart going on eleven years, and I have seen my store going on a downhill slide, can't speak for other stores.  I don't buy anything electronic, I don't buy clothes (only in a dier emergency), etc.  Everything is cheap, not to mention ugly.  People hate the store, we don't have stuff that people want, or else Wal-Mart got rid of it.  It's not a pleasent place to work anymore.  I would bet if another store would come in and stick with it, and not be intimidate by Wal-Mart, WM would more that likely lose 75% of there customers, and more than likely most of their associates. I don't buy Wal-Mart if I don't have to.  I apologize to everyone that has had a bad experience with Wal-Mart, it's not going to get any better.

Seriously how is this walmarts fault and not RCA. Walmart is too nice about taking back crap, seriously.. Im glad they didnt take your TV back, this is between you and RCA not walmart.

As the other employee said there is many places with the return policy posted, a huge sign or two in electronics, by the register, etc. Walmart does more than their part on taking crap back. Next time don't buy a RCA tv, try phillips, samsung, LG, etc.

If Walmart won't do anything to assist you..shame on them...but they are not obligated unless they sold you some kind of in house service plan..which I am not even aware if they offer that since I would never shop at that place..just not for me. I know BestBuy offers service plans (which many think are extended warranties..but they are not) for additional cost..but if you don't purchase the plan..they only cover any issues in house for 30 days...so Walmarts 90 day policy seems more then reasonable.

Now in reality, the 1 year warranty is from RCA. They are the ones you are going to have to deal with to get your TV fixed or replaced. And if I were you I would get on this before the year is up and then the warranty is expired. In which case they can then legally tell you to pound sand..as of now while it is still under manufacturers warranty..you have a shot.

Walmart is always the villian... Yet you're the one that refuses to read the policy's. If you would look around in electronics you would see more than 10 signs clearly explaining the return policy and it's 90 day limit. Even at some facilities they're printed on your recipt. You should be angry at RCA, and yourself. Not walmart.

No "Life-time" Warranty

I can understand your beef with RCA, as it seems they may be having some issues at this time. That said, how long should WalMart be responsible for the products you purchase? 90 days is a very generous return policy, and we take things back, during that 90 days, pretty much no questions asked.

Too many people have the idea that if it's bought at WalMart it should never have to be bought again.
