Regency Furniture Ripoff Upper Marlboro Maryland
Purchased furniture from the Waldorf location in Feb. 2014 and March 2014 for my living room and bedroom. At the time of the purchase in Feb. the manager agreed to allow me to have the all the furniture delivered at one time if I purchased the warranty for $150.00. I contacted the store in April to see if they had a date when the furniture would arrive at the warehouse and at that time I was given a May 15. 2014 date. I called the store back on May 16, 2014 to see if the furniture arrived to the warehouse and was informed that the vendor estimate the date of arrival June 15, 2014. The CR told me that this particular brand of furniture that I selected was coming from overseas and the vendor will not ship if the crate is not full. I do not understand why this was not explain to me at the time I made the purchase. The only thing that was said that it would take 4 to 6 weeks after you make the final payment. I have made several phone calls to the store and the Customer Service Center trying to cancel both orders. On May 20, 2014, I was told that I could only cancel the furniture that I purchased on March 15, 2014 without the penalty. If I decide to cancel the furniture that was purchased in Feb. 2014, the cancellation penalty is 10% of the total. The part of the orders that I paid will cash will take up to 21 days to receive the check. During the conversation I informed them that I no longer have the Debit Card that I used to make the payments because of some fraudulent activity on that card. The CR told me that I would need to get a letter from my Financial Institute before they could not refund my money on a different card.
