Regions Bank $14.00 per month fees to use/save my money: Mobile, Alabama
Called Regions today to
see if I could switch from a Life Green Checking account to something
for students. "No. 25 is the maximum age limit for students." "Well,
what about those of us who are going for our PhD and are older than
that?", I replied. "I know it's not fair", said the representative.
So, for 30 minutes we tried to figure something out. Like the poster
below, my account is now negative as well. Get this...a regular
checking account is limited to about 25 transactions per month or you're
charged after that. In order to have a savings account you need
Lifegreen Checking. If not, your savings will be charged the 10.00 fee
as well. Wow! So you could really get close to spending around 14.00+
dollars a month to use or save your own money.
I asked her if the fees would be deducted around the same time each
month. "It will vary per month depending on the month and the cycle
date". What?! So this month it happened on the 15th, next month it will
be November 10th. Is this bank serious? You just took the fees
out and now you're going to basically take them in another 3 1/2 weeks??
I'm switching to an online bank. Perhaps Ally. This is really
ridiculous and once Regions bank sees the number of lost customers, they
will have to change their policy. No matter what you do, they are going
to get you in fees. Do not even get me started on their $36.00 overdraft fee abuse. I had another business put a check through on the same day, four times. They admitted to their wrong doing but instead of Regions helping me, they charged me $36.00, four times and refused to credit it back!
The little money I had is now gone and it would have been nice to buy gas to go to job interviews since I was laid off due to the economy. Or how about buying a gallon of milk for my family? Thanks a lot Regions for putting me in the negative. Not everyone can maintain a $1,500 balance in their checking account, let alone $50.00 after paying monthly bills and trying to make a dollar stretch.
