My name is Trisha. I purchased a hp pavillion pc from the rent a center in clearlake california. I payed for it in full with cash. I went home plugged it all in and i couldn't get the internet to work on it (i have a cable modem) anyway didnt work so we took it back. They gave us another computer, they claimed it was new, never used. Well it was used because when i got it home it had stuff on it from the last person who owned it. Anyway so i decided to try and work with it and well it didnt work well. So we brought the other one back and they said they could have it repaired and my husband said no i just want my money back. They said they didnt have that kind of money in the register and there safe was locked for the night and for us to come back tommarrow.

So we called back the next day and nope still no money. Next day nope still no money, or more like they have it but there manager isnt there so they cant give it to us.It's been two days going on three and im so frustrated!!! Before we left the store after being told to come back for the money, i MADE them put it on paper that they owe me 745$ in cash! it has the managers signature and everthing! My only question is what do i do now??? I called there 800 number and they told me that they were gonna have a manager or whatever call me back, whitch hasnt happend yet.If this keeps going on what should i do next??

I work for RAC in another state but I hope I can shed some light. What they said about not having that much cash on hand is true we arnt suppose to have much the the drawer just enought to give people change from payments and the safe is time locked and not even the manager can open it threw out the day. In this case what our store has done is call early in the morning and speak with the store manager and tell him to not do any drops threw out the day so they will have enought cash to refund your money and then call back later to see if they have enough and drop by and get your refund. Hope this helps! :)
