Nottingham,#2UPDATE EX-employee responds
Wed, May 22, 2013
I'm so glad you wrote this, I know of this company, worked there myself, lasted about 3 days.
Very very long working hours, didn't get a single penny, and then started to do my research. Complete and utter scam.
Worked with the women called Alexandre and Julie same thing, promised me everything you said, and seemed all good. Then the first day started and there were too many red flags to count. I was in the same boat as you, hadn't had a job for a while, so I was really happy I got this job.
Also working on commission based only £5.00 per item sold, even though during the 16 hour interview none of this was said. The office is behind, what looks like an art gallery from the outside, Boxes and Boxes of make-up merchandise, all brought from china, and they were telling customers that they were a mineral based brand called "Make Over Essentials" and they were just starting up and promoting their brand from USA before it hits the stores. This was over a year ago and even now, they're saying the same stuff.
Now they operate in busy cities close to Nottingham. I was working in Derby Westfield Centre. I went through all the training and what not to do. I witnessed the sales team, taking credit card details over the phone including security codes and card details. The product was £29.99 and you were getting £140.00 worth of free make-up with the promotion. No refunds were given, They were charging more then they were stating plus they didn't tell the customers that there was a small charge with using their cards.
The office was a whole other world. There were no recipets printed, it was all cash in hand, no records or anything. And Apparently everyone who worked there was 24 years old. Literally Everyone. From the boss to managers to the sales staff, everyone was the same age and making at least £3,000 a week in commission.
After seeing sales members taking credit card details over the phone from the sales teams in other cities, I found the excuse to leave and never returned. They also told me not to tell the job centre or benefit agency about me working their. No form of ID was asked for, None whatsoever.
These people prey on the desperate. it will all seem amazing when you start, but please don't fall for this scam. The company has many names and that change every 6 months: Retro consulting, Jam Industries, Love Film, SSC Marketing, Thinking Forward Events (This is the new name) and many more to come. If trading standards got involved, they could clear out their office within 20 mins flat. The address from the USA doesn't exsist. Everything they say is a lie. They rip people off for a living. Walk away
