RGA Armani ripoff in Sydney Australia
What some of you describe was the same modus operandi use now in Sydney Australia.
This smartly dresses Italian came up to me at the petrol station asking if I could speak Italian. Being of Asian descent, I know little of it. He started in English then, explaining that he had just finished a fashion convention at Darling Harbour and was about to head home to Italy. He had some leather garments left over from the convention and he did not want to bring them back with him because of some tax issues.
He ushered me to his car, which I believe was rented, which had a interstate licence plate. He had a colleague sitting in the front passenger seat whom kept quiet through out the whole event. He showed me 4 garments and told me that there were Armani leather jackets and said they retail for thousand of dollars in Australia. He told me if I buy one of the garments, he would give the rest for free. He demonstrated that the garments were real leather by lighthing a cigarette lighter on it. True enough, they were real leather. After some initial "no's", he brought the price down reasonably to entice me. I ended up paying him AUD$1000 for the lot.
After reading some of the story posted on this site, I also believe it is a scam. However, my question are a) are the garments not Armani and b) are they worthless?
