Rudd / Rheem Sold a Defective Product Fort Smith AR
Less then a year ago I replaced my old 7 seer AC with a Rudd RQNJ-A036JK00, 13 Seer heatpump. Immediatly I noticed that first it was so loud you could not hear yourself in the backyard. The neighbors thought a helicopter was flying over everytime it ran.
After 3 techs came out to look at it and they all said it was normal, they sent out a 4th PRO top management person. He said he could hear it when he drove up and that it was not normal. So they replaced the blade which quieted it down enough that you could hear yourself in the backyard.
They also found that the compressor was causing so much noise that they wrapped it in a sound damping material. This made the sound level now in the home to that of a truck driving by when it runs. Which is still enough to wake you up at night.
The house still shakes and rumbles from vibration when it runs and it runs 10 minutes, then off 10 minutes then on 10 minutes consistantly. They do not know why, and can not figure how to resolve this.
Their answer to any problems is, It is normal till you press them, then they admit it is defective. Yet they still have not resolved the noise problem. And appears they figure if it runs, that is good enough.
Do not buy Rheem or Rudd heatpumps. Unless you do not want to sleep at night or want to raise your voice when on the telephone.
