In response to the previous Rheem compliant. I have worked in HVAC for many years before moving to R&D with a Global Consumer Goods Leader. My Rheem furnace was installed around the same time as yours. My Igniter failure was cause by a crack in the vent blower housing which is mounted directly above the igniter.

This can result in Carbon Monoxide leaks and debris falling on the igniter thus leading to igniter burnout.

(I clean my Furnace 2 times per year)

Part #2

My furnace was installed with "Utravent" Flu/Vent pipe.

When searching online for a possible recall for my vent blower, I found the Rheem "Rip off Report" and furthermore the recall for the dangerous vent pipe which is prone to cracking at the joins and finally the possibility of CO poisoning.

The vent pipes are plastic; the vent pipes are colored gray or black; and the vent pipes have the names "Plexvent ," "Plexvent II" or "Ultravent " stamped on the vent pipe or printed on stickers placed on pieces used to connect the vent pipes together.

My next step is to contact the dealer (Apollo Heating in Cincinnati, Ohio) If not satisfied I will contact:
