To your problem well the sensor that's in your right side hub or steering knuckle as it's called will not make your air bag light to come on what it will do is make your ABS light to come on so now your braking system at this point is not working the way it should be and should be address as for the price that you have stated is that parts and labor you are being over charged.
and now for that sound or noise you are hearing could be a couple of things like you said your shocks or it could be the bushing on your uper or lower control arms or it could be the lower control radius arm bushings to as those are common on Explorers so for your airbag light being on could be a couple of reasons for that you would need to have your vehicle computer scanned for a code telling you why the light is staying so with out me seeing your S U V is that the airbag or bags are no good as your vehicle is over 10yrs old and with out a code number and as i said before with out seeing it that would be hard to say what the cause is, will the airbag go off cause of the light being on that's a 50/50 as airbags are designed to go off by the sensor that's on the front of the frame at the time of impact so for me to honestly give you more answers to your questions i would need more information like mileage engine size and what month day and yr as those will say tell me if it was mid or late of 2002 so i hope this was help full and feel free to ask me questions as i do not like it when people are taken for there hard earned money furthermore most do not know this but you can get repairs done at local trade schools and all you pay for is the parts and with suppervision from teacher to make sure the work is done right.
Ok I have a problem for you. I have a Ford Explorer 2002. It sound like a bed creaking when I go over a speedbump, there is also a chirp in the front right wheel, my lamp for my airbag deployment is also on. I was told it was all due to a sensor in the front right wheel that would run me around 1200. If the airbag ever was deployed while I was driving I would be killed because I am so short that I have to sit on the steering wheel LOL>!! Yet the squeaking sounds to me like the shocks. The chirp in the front wheel I have no idea but its an old SUV. If someone didn't total my pathfinder I would still drive that

I would like for you to know yes you can get a bad o2 sensor two it could of been damaged wen installed as for your cats most aftermarkets ones are better than O E M as they meet and exceed what the automotive manufacture recommends but at the same time if a part is installed wrong even a catalytic converter or the wrong one furthermore a o2 sensor problem could all so be caused of a bad connection/broken wire/ as for the cats once more could be bad as well,
most of all i would like to know is are you saying toyota will not work on your truck cause of what they did or are they saying it cause you want to use aftermarket parts as most dealer are like that cause they are not making money and will tell you that aftermarket parts will void any and all warranties on you vehicle well that's a lie so what it sounds like is to me is the shop who did the work should have there automotive repair license revoke by the D M V for what i feel are acting in bad faith why do i say this.
well they took a job that only takes a day and that they are not using the correct parts to fix your problem nor do they know how to do a driveability test drive as you have stated that you put new plugs/ k&N filter before taking your truck in to be repaired furthermore i feel that they did not explain to you about certain cats or exhaust parts that will work or not work on your vehicle as i work for toyota and factory trained as well, as i can tell you what will work the best and what will not as magna flows are a great product but at the same time if they right application is not used then there can be damage not just to the new parts but the engine as well etc i know this why cause i have seen it more and more over the years cause automotive repair shops today are franchise a long with limited knowledge of this filed of work so to help you some more all i need now is mileage engien size a long with manufactures date meaning month day of that year so i can give you the right parts numbers that will make your truck perform the best just like it did they day you purchase it and even better.
feel free to e-mail me (((ROR redacted)))

My Vehicle is a 2004 Toyota Tundra 4x4. I did have it over to Toyota for a free full scan on their computers everything came back great except they said the cats had really low flow and would not work on this vehicle and the Bank 2 Sensor 2 o2 sensor was not the correct voltage it was around .290v while all the other sensors were .115v. Also you can hear the back pressure, and hear the cat rattling on the passenger side. Also Even Rick Johnson Auto and Tire stated that the convertors and o2s were defective 3 times and refused to change them after that saying theres no way there defective again which Toyota clearly showed they were.
Heres some other numbers from the diagnostic sheet that I'm sure have something to do with it but I'm not sure maybe you will understand it better.
o2S B1 S1 .115v
o2S B1 S2 .115v
o2S B2 S1 .115v
o2S B2 S2 .290v
Short FT#1 2.31%
Long FT#1 0.74%
Short FT#2 0.74%
Long FT#2 1.53%
o2 FT B1 S1 2.31%
o2 FT B1 S2 99.15%
o2 FT B2 S1 1.53%
o2 LR B1 S1 65ms
o2 RL B1 S1 65ms
o2 RL B2 S1 196ms
Not sure if that has much to do with it but thats all I see thats related to this.
I just want my truck either fixed correctly with the OE parts or a Full Refund so I can get it fixed correctly.

I would like to say there is something more wrong with your vehicle one dose the engine check light stay on or dose it go on and of as that would be help full and then how many miles dose it have and are they mainly city or highway as any good shop would of scanned your vehicle for a code a long with seeing if everything was with in spec, so more information would be help full regarding this matter cause so far it shows they do not have a clue what they are doing as to do said work would be done in a day furthermore magnaflow is a excellent product as long it's used in the right application as for the air filter that should of raised a red flag so right now it's seams to me that this shop has no A S E certified techs and if they are for some reason then they are fakes or not theirs or else just book smart only.
so if you can pleas tell me yr make model engine size etc i bet i can tell you what your problem is as i am a level 2 A S E master automotive tech with over 30 plus yrs i can solve your problem so now it's up to you.
