I contracted Rivera's construction to do some concrete work at my house. I received a written estimate for concrete plus labor. After completion of work, I had them sign the written estimate as paid in full since I had paid cash for their services.

About a week later, I received a note on my door from the local cement company that our cement bill had not been paid. I contacted Edward from Rivera's construction and he said he would take care of it.

After another week, the bill had still not been paid. I called Rivera construction again and spoke with Manuel. Manuel had told me that he thought there may have been some kind of misunderstanding with my written estimate and we were responsible for paying for the concrete bill. I told him that the estimate clearly stated, one estimate for the concrete and another line estimate for the labor.

Manuel stated that it would be taken care of. Two weeks later, I have received notice that the concrete company still had not received payment and they were going to put a lean against my house. Now I am stuck with an extra $700 bill for the concrete! Please use caution when considering whether or not to use Rivera constuction!

Just wanted to update and let everyone know that Rivera construction came through with an agreement to square up with payment to the concrete company. Manuel and Edward stopped by last night to make good on or agreement. My doorbell rang about 10 minutes after they left. They had returned to tell me that they were looking at the patio that was poured and were not happy with the way it had turned out.

They had examined it and noticed that the finish work looked like water had damaged it prior to curing, as it had rained the next day. They actually aproached me and told me that they wanted to replace the patio on their dime. I was in total shock!

I do truly believe that there may have been some kind of misunderstanding with the original quote, but we were able to come to a mutual agreement. I applaud Manual and Edward as being stand up business owners and standing by their work!
