ROARK VACATION TRAVEL, SHEPHERD OF THE HILLS ENTERTAINMENT GROUP Ripoff Travel Vacation Plan HOLLISTER Missouri
In August 2004 my deceased husband & I purchased a vacation package from Roark vacation travel total cost $4,700.00.
We were never able to utilize the service because when we tried to book a fishing cruise to Alaska the prices quoted was triple the amount that we had researched by other companies.
We disputed the charges with both Sears & Citibank the 2 credit cards used to make the purpose. Both refused to dispute the charges because it was later than 3 days when we got home and was able to call Roark to cancel the Contract.
We also contacted Jay Nixon, the Mo. Attorney General, the Mike Cox, the MI attorney general and the mediation agency.We got no help from any of them.
I got a letter from the following people at Roark: Lingell Johnson, Vickie Hicks, & Larry Pittman, offering to settle the dispute by returning only half of my $4,700.00.
After talking to the Elder Law center I reluctantly accepted the amount to keep from havig a total loss. Roark put in a clause that I was to agree to release all claims and retract all complaints lodged against them. I signed the check with the words "under protest" "you still owe me $2,350.00".
I had origianlly inserted this into the release they sent to me but Larry Pittman returned it stating that I was not to insert anything and sign as is.
There ought to be a law to stop these type of scammers from ripping off innocent people who go to Branson for fun & relaxation only to get sucked in by these type of swindlers.
I am available to talk to the media, FBI, FTC, Governor or anyone else who is willing to listen to my ripoff horror story.This is the end time I filed a report with your company.
