We took our car in to Ron Carter for a bumper repair. It was a recommended body shop through State Farm Insurance. Our car was late by three days past the promise date. When my Wife picked the car up, her iPOD was missing. It was attached to the car stereo via a series of cables. The cables were re-routed into the console of the vehicle. This was obviously done on purpose, to deceive and make believe that it was just inside the console. She did not notice until down the road that there was no more iPOD. The service tech she spoke with said it was not their responsibility.

I will be calling the Alvin Police Department, and State Farm to file complaints and make a police report against them.

Whether recommended or not...DO NOT take your car for service there.

Everybody Knows You don't want your valuables RIPPED-OFF, you TAKE THEM OUT OF YOUR VEHICLE!

I used to repo cars. I used to guard automotive dealerships as a security guard. IN TEXAS! I used to see HUGE SIGNS POSTED ON THE PREMISES in English and Spanish: " Not responsible for personal items left in your vehicle." Did you check to see if these signs were present? I am not doubting your word because there are cleaning people, mechanics and their helpers and others who pass through the service area every day and if something is left out that they can use, they MIGHT grab it. Also, at night, if there is a particuliar large dealership to patrol and there is only one security person and there are severak street gangstas and they want to come in and chcek out what you have in your car, they can almost always find a way --- no matter how hard you try to maintain security. There are also people who need some money in a quick fix and they suddenly claim things are stolen that they never owned. I do not leave anything of value in my car. Ever. All it takes is one good hit and they have your identification proof of insurance, financial document and you might as well have put it all out on the Internet. Just be glad it wasn't yoru air bags ( Better check for those because they are worth a LOT more than an iPod) and your catalytic converter and sound system. Houston is becoming notorious for criminal street gangstas and an iPod is something that they would like to steal. The fact that they so artfully rearranged the wires is an "in your face" that they had the time to take it and see if it worked and rearrange the wires without anyone seeing them. I would defnitely file the reports, DO NOT EVER LEAVE ANYTHING OF VALUE IN YOUR CAR AGAIN, and don't do business with a dealership. I prefer to do my own mechanic work or find someone with a small family-type shop who needs a few extra dollars. And I STILL take my valuables out of the vehicle. I am sorry for what happened to you.
