3/31/1999 Closed on new home purchase

4/15/1999 Leak found in kitchen ceiling

4/15 - 7/15 Builder cuts hole in kitchen ceiling and makes several attempts to locate source of leak

7/17/1999 House floods when fitting comes off in upstairs bathroom

7/17/1999 We use video camera to record condition of home for insurance purposes

7/17/1999 We walk down to Rottlund's ON-SITE SALES OFFICE, notify our sales rep that our 3 1/2 month old house has flooded and ask her to contact the proper Rottlund officials

7/17or18/1999 Sales rep calls and advises us that Rottlund management said for us to call our insurance company

8/12/1999 Rottlund refuses to make repairs so we hire a another contractor

9/23/1999 Repairman makes service call because downstairs a/c unit is overflowing into garage floor

9/30/1999 Repairman makes a second service call - downstairs a/c unit is still overflowing into garage floor

12/1/1999 New contractor completes repairs on home

2000:

1/5/2000 We find water stain on kitchen ceiling in same spot as original leak

3/1/2000 Cracks begin appearing in driveway and on back porch

4/2000-6/2000 Water begins accumulating on window sill in den following rain storms

4/2000-6/2000 Cracks on driveway and back porch get wider and increase in number

8/1/2000 Horizontal cracks begin appearing on back porch steps, cracks appear in garage floor, tile in kitchen and outside house under den window

10/1/2000 House numbers keep falling off, caulk and paint around garage door starts coming off in large pieces

11/1/2000 Cracks begin appearing where walls meet ceiling in garage - chunks of plaster begin falling out

2001:

6/1/2001 Water begins appearing on inside wall and wood trim above garage door after heavy rain

10/2/2001 Home Inspector issues inspection report recommending multiple repairs to resolve water intrusion

10/12/2001 Attorney sends letter to Rottlund requesting repairs to control extensive leaking throughout home

10/25/2001 Receive letter from Rottlund advising they had performed inspection from outside the home and determined that water intrusion was resulting from breakdown of caulk and they had performed a courtesy repair as this was a homeowner maintenance item

12/20/2001 Rottlund sends letter stating that they are not responsible for repairs

2002:

1/8/2002 Plumber inspects leak in kitchen, dripping in half bath and flushing problems with all three toilets

2/5/2002 Continued cracking through driveway, garage, and pool deck is inspected by insurance company and is so extensive they require sinkhole testing.

3/28/2002 Engineering Report reveals concrete fragments and a void in the soil beneath the pool deck

4/26/2002 Air consultant conducts initial air test - recommends air handler be cleaned due to visible mold

5/14/2002 Air consultant report identifies the following molds present in the house: Cladosporium, Penicillium, Curvularia, Phoma, Aspergillus Fumigatus, Drechslera (Bipolaris), Aspergillus Fumigatus

5/25/2002 Move family and pets into condo paid for by insurance company

5/29/2002 Interscience conducted air quality inspecting and testing of residence

5/31/2002 Insurance company gets second investigation to determine if sinkhole activity is responsible for the damage to property

6/17/2002Interscience issues report identifying mold growth in residence

8/5/2002 Interscience conducted a second examination and identified Stachybotrys, Memnoniella, Aspergillus, Penicillium and Cladosporium

8/5/2002 Insurance company advises second study concludes cracking is due to loose soil under pool deck & decay/decomposition of organic material under foundation

8/15/2002 Notified by insurance company advising we need to hire our own contractors to locate the source(s) of all the water leaks that precipitated the mold growth and repair those leaks at our expense prior to insurance company initiating remediation action (Rottlund has refused to make repairs)

10/24/2002 Air consultant report shows mold levels still unacceptable - more extensive remediation required

11/1/2002 Remediation work complete

11/22-25/2002 We move back into house upon confirmation that air samples are acceptable

2003 Cracks throughout driveway, garage, kitchen and pool deck continue to increase and widen

2004 / 2005 Crack continue to multiply and now the den window is leaking again

2005 Still in lawsuit with the builder
