I visited Royal Car Wash and Quick Lube with my new vehicle. I decided to have my first oil change done there. The mechanic informed me that my oil cap needed to be replaced stating it appeared "damaged”. I agreed and was charged $4.99 for the part. I had to return to the dealership for a recall a few months later and requested an oil change. I was informed that wherever the first oil change was done, a larger plug was placed on my oil tank. Since it was not the proper plug, it caused extensive damage to the oil tank. Due to the extent of damage to my vehicle, I was forced to rent a vehicle. I immediately contacted Royal Car Wash and Quick Lube requesting to speak with the owner. The owner refused to take my call but requested that I fax all information from dealership. I did as requested spending over $10 to send fax. I was then on a run around speaking to Francis the mechanic who refused to believe he "made the mistake”. He went as far as trying to accuse Hyundai of putting out an inferior product and stated that he suggested that I bring to dealership. This statement is a lie as is everything else that he has said. There is a paper trail from the plug being replaced, my being billed $4.99 for the part- no special comments that it should be brought to dealership and paperwork from Liberty Hyundai stating that the cause of damage is due to the oil change. I only had one oil change and that was from Royal Car Wash and Quick Lube. The owner believes that it’s acceptable to rip customers off and not be held accountable.
