Tell us has your experience with this business or person been good? What's this?
I attended one of Russ Whitney's Free seminars where I signed up for one of his beginner seminars for $1,000. I split it with my dad and we both attended with the impression I would learn what I needed to know to go out and start investing in real estate. Almost half that seminar was just trying to sell you on the next seminar. One of their sales people was so pushy and rude for giving her my opinion of the seminar. I told her it wasn't very informative and very basic information I could have learned from a book. She tried to sign me up to the next seminar and was very rude to my dad and myself for not signing up for another seminar that day. I was thinking, "If they are so successful in real estate, why do they care if I join or not?"

My guess is that they are making alot of money from signing up people and not from real estate investing. I almost signed up today but something told me I should do some research first. I found some negative things from the Better Business Bureau and alot of negative comments on the internet. I am very glad not to have wasted all my money on this scam. If anyone knows of a real estate guru who is legit please let me know. I'm not letting this idiot stop me from pursuing my goals.

Simple Solution for All Victims - Avoid All Informercials

This is a fact - all these guys on infomercials are CROOKS and IDIOTS. They are'nt gurus at all. If they were experts making so much money from real estate or trading stocks, don't you think they would be spending their time doing just that? WAKE UP! You need to accept the fact that EVERY PERSON on an infomercial trying to sell you something or get you to come to one of their "Free" seminars (to sell you something) are CROOKS. They ONLY money they are making is from YOU. Next, you need to contact the attorney general of your state with complaints of these crooks. Finally, you need to protest to your local TV station that continues to sell these crooks ad time. Tell them that if they continue to sell ad time to infomercial crooks, you will ban their station.

HOW TO GET YOUR MONEY BACK

Start by calling the number below. I have been contacted by CNN. That was how I learned About the refund. The Florida State Attorney General uses an complaint affidavit. They will send you a letter informing you of the settlement. If you go to http://www.ripoffreport.com and search (Whitney Shamy) you will find the instructions to file a complaint. There is a sample letter there too. You can start by contacting your local attorney general in your state first. Have that complaint forwarded and the (photocopied) evidence to the Florida AG. Find any email/usmail advertising addressed directly to you. This may be considered mail fraud. Most important is the signed sales receipt or student agreement showing how you paid, and all the fine print on the back. This is organized crime. We intend to go to the next highest authority. I am particularly interested in the free seminar gurus. This is the first step in the whole scam. Their attorney's may send a letter threatening to sue (in 30 days) for defamation if the free seminar gurus name isn't removed from the ROR. The last one was about 3 months ago. They post threatening rebuttals on the ROR website. What was the name of the first guru in your chain of events? These are the speakers who tell the first lie and make the first faults promise. When confronted, they will call you a whiner. Then, they distance themselves from the Whitney alliance and explain how he used his time making his latest and greatest real estate deal with his miracle real estate technology. Fact is, he is not, and never has been licensed to practice real estate anywhere. Realtors deal with foreclosures, are trained to be diligent and will prevent the kind of tragic mistakes made by Whitney real estate amateurs. Agents can be find and can lose their licenses if they don't. Your guru, and his troop, will disappear like a band of gypsies. Sincerely, Agent Real DEPUTY ATTORNEY GENERAL OFFICE OF THE ATTORNEY GENERAL The Capitol, PL-01 Tallahassee, FL 32399-1050 (850) 245-0140 ATTN: The Florida State Attorney Generals office has reached a settlement agreement with the Whitney Information Network, a parent company of several other companies that advertise through infomercials and free seminars. The foreclosure training sold at these free seminars do not focus on foreclosures, are not consider Continuing Education and did not provided a Certificate of Completion as advertised. The so called training focused on selling the student another (more expensive) service such as the Wealth Intelligence Academy. Students signed an agreement that promised to abide by the consumers 3 day right to a refund under the Consumers Protection Act, enforced by the FTC. It is no accident when it take 21 days before the student can view, question or inspect the educational services purchased at the free 'Teach Me Foreclosure' seminars. Dissatisfied consumers will receive more than $1 million in refunds as a result of the state's investigation and settlement. Hopefully, any defamation law suits will bring us one step closer to the final solution to this global problem. $1,000,000 will not be enough to pay them all back or impress the seminar gurus and the secret Whitney alliance.
