S E F PUBLISHERS Taking me to court for $2000 for a past due amt of $189???!! I called to cancel and was asured that this would happen BRADENTON Florida
About a year ago this company called me and told me I won a $1000.00 shopping spree. In order to claim this prize, I was told to fill out a one time subscription to a magazine that they told me they would charge on my credit card. I told them I wanted to see proof of the shopping spree I had won and they gave me the web site. They told me to check it out and if I wasn't satisfied I could call and cancel with no problem. I saw the web site and was completely suprised at all the worthless junk on the site that would never amount to a payment of what they were asking for the magazines. I immediately called them back and they told me they could not refund that first time fee of approximately $34.00 but would cancel my order and send me some magazines for that fee I already paid. I counted my loss and left it at that.
Today July 3, 2008 i recieved a letter from them, half handwritten, saying my account is seriously past due and in order to avoid court in JULY , And to 'keep yourself out of a financial nightmare, pay ASAP $198.00, cancel fee, to avoid court plus additional fees of $2000!!!
I called and rcvd VERY poor customer service when trying to resolve this issue and get some answers. I was hung up on several times and was told it was the end of the business day. Judy is the contacte "collections" person and is EXTREMLY RUDE!
