Why in the world would you leave you precious car in the hands of a tech that apparently could barely speak English?! Are you crazy?! You must be. First off, this was something you brought on yourself. If you didn't trust him to begin with..then why did you let him do it? Second, what are you, six?! A finder's fee? and labor for you to install your own part? it is NOT $250 labor to install a trim on any vehicle. If you were smart, you could have called around and asked NICELY if someone around town at a local glass shop if they would do it. Third, you should have a mobile service done on a classic vehicle anyways. You should always take it to their shop, even if that means getting it towed there if you really want the work done.

Well, Safelite answered the news station. Too bad they have their dates a little screwed up. Seems they told the station that they had possession of the parts BEFORE the guy had them removed from the 'donor car'. I haven't heard a thing from them since the phone call on July 14. They also told the station that I have 'refused safelites generous offers'. A hundred bucks is a generous offer? What kind of cigarettes are they smoking?!

A 20 year old "rare" car for 8 grand? I don't know what your definition of "rare" is. If I was THAT concerned about my "rare" car I probably wouldn't let a tech(who could barely speak english) in a van, come to my house to install a windshield on my "rare" car. As a matter of fact, safelite installed a windshield on my wife's not so "rare" 2006 honda last year. THEY did a good job. I didn't like the idea of some unknow and unsupervised tech driving to the house in some van. EYE wanted it done properly by some tech in a place of business where EYE could watch what they were doing under the supervision of someone who knew what they were doing. EYE wanted it done IN THEIR SHOP. By the way, where were you when the tech was working on this "rare" car? A finder's fee? Give me a break?
