Steve, I seem to remember multiple posts from you that talk about how badly collectors mistreated you when you spent $170,000 of their money. Now you are telling people that it is THEIR fault that they didn't pay THEIR bills? LOL! Now THAT is unreal.

Those were my thoughts exactly. This person didn't pay their electric bill and put their children at risk of death and blames the electric company for not going out of their way to help her. I can't believe reading many of these reports how bad this country has become at blaming others for their own problems. Didn't read your contract? Blame the dealer for charging you more. Didn't pay your bill? Blame the company for not turnign it back on fast enough. Sent money via western union even though they tell you not to? It's western unions fault for allowing it! Unreal

Trish, I lived in Phoenix for a few years and know how it gets. However, I always paid my electric bill in order to avoid what you faced. It is not SRP's fault, or problem that you failed to pay your bill. That is your fault. However, there were several immediate solutions to your problem. The first is to get a cheap cooler and a few bags of ice. That would have saved your food. Then, I'm sure you could have stayed with friends or relatives, or even rented a cheap motel room so you and your kids could have electricity for one night. BTW...The people out in the tent city manage without A/C. Do you have a car with A/C? I think I would have put my small children to bed in the car and let it run. There were many options here. No rip off. Pay your bills. You just didn't get the answer you wanted and nobody jumped when you wanted them to jump. That is the only problem here.

Depending on how they shut off your electric determines how easy it is to turn back on. Many times they shut it off at the pole, or put a lock on your meter which has to be done by a technician, but only AFTER your payment is processed overnight to ensure your check doesn't bounce, etc. I understand your reasoning for expecting them to come out quickly to turn it back on, but as hard as this is to hear, it's NOT THEIR FAULT YOUR MILK IS SPOILING, IT'S YOURS. They hear hard luck stories all the time from people who don't pay their bills.
